🐸 A Big Leap Forward for Active Travel around Linmere!🚶♀️🚴♂️ 🛴
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Thornhill School Park & Stride Scheme, supported by Linmere and Central Bedfordshire Council. The scheme encouraged pupils, parents and guardians to start and finish their journeys to school, from The Farmstead Linmere, for 3 weeks this spring.
We were delighted to welcome Freddie the Fresh Air Frog to Thornhill School’s Friday Assembly as we announced the lucky winning entrant. The level of participation from pupils and families was fantastic, and congratulations to the winner of the smart watch! 🎉⌚
It’s great to see so many pupils and families choosing to walk, stride, cycle and scoot to school. Together, we’re helping to create healthier habits, reduce traffic around the school gates, and improve air quality for everyone in our community.
Big thank you to the team at ROAM cafe bistro for their support in the scheme, and everyone who took part—we hope to see even more Park & Striders, in the months ahead! 💚

The Linmere Cycling Hub is hosting a CYCLING SURVIVAL WORKSHOP, at The Farmstead Linmere, on Tuesday 9th June - from 6:00PM!
The purpose of the workshop is to show you tips and tricks to get you home, or to a bike shop, should something go wrong when you’re out riding. We run this workshop with a maximum of 10 participants so there’s plenty of time for everyone to get ‘dirty hands on’ (PPE Provided).
The 2 hour session will cover:
- How to fix a puncture – properly 🩹 🩹
- What do do if your tyre splits 🛞
- What to do if your chain snaps ⛓️💥
- Chain lubrication 🧴🧴
- What to do if your mech hanger snaps 😬 😬
- What to do if your derailleur goes into your spokes ✳️
- Temporarily fix a buckled wheel 🚲
- Replace a broken spoke ⛓️💥
- Replacing broken cables and tips on temporary fixes 🔧
- What to take on long rides in relation to tools and spares 🛠️ 🧰
