As a sen mum myself.. I know how terrifying it can be to reach out for help. By time we reach the point where support would benefit us.. many of us have experiences feeling blamed and shamed.. and afraid to ask for help with the fears that it will be used against us.

I am not here to judge you.. I'm not here to tell you what to do. I'm here to provide a safe and confidential space where you can be yourself and express yourself freely.. sharing the hard times and celebrating the good times and the damn right ugly times.

The worst thing you can tell someone who's experienced trauma, pain and grief. I can't stand memes like this..🤦🏻‍♀️

"Let it go" or "Get over it".

It's not that simple.

We all process and work through our pain and trauma in our own ways and there's no time limit.. some can work through it alone.. or with friends and family and some seek counselling and support from professionals. Some are struggling alone in isolation and feel unable to ask for help.

Do it in your own way and time! It's painful business healing from painful experiences, grief and trauma ❤️

Good morning 👋

I'm a qualified therapist as well as a fellow parent carer to three beautiful children who are autistic/adhd/dyslexic/ocd.

My biggest passion is providing care and support to other parent carers, so I created 'Sendsitive'.

I will ensure any other counsellors working with Sendsitive will also be parent carers. For me, this is vital. I want people that understand from the perspective of a parent carer and are able to create that safe space to speak openly and honestly without fear of judgement or assumptions.

Our first group is starting on Saturday 1st June in Potters Bar.

I will be facilitating an online group soon. And also offer low cost 121 counselling face to face (Potters bar) or online.

Absolutely.

This isn't to say ruptures can not be mended between those wanting to repair and genuinely want to be in eachothers lives and work on nurturing a loving and caring relationship.

But some are dedicated to provoking, isolating, belittling, being condescending, being malicious and hurtful without feeling sorry nor remorseful. Some Will not respect your decisions, are not compassionate or supportive nor will even attempt to be understanding.

If you have to keep communicating your needs and enforcing your boundaries because that family member dismisses, hurts and disrespects you.. its OK to protect yourself from that person.. family or not.
