🧘‍♀️ It’s National Stress Awareness Day!

Today’s a reminder to pause, breathe, and take care of our mental wellbeing — even on the busiest days.

At the office, we’ve got a special helper keeping the stress levels low: Max, Sarah’s dog, who’s been spreading calm (and smiles!) all day. 🐶

Taking small breaks, connecting with others, and enjoying a few tail wags can make all the difference in how we feel and perform.

Let’s keep prioritising balance — for ourselves and for our teams.

Think Tank Tuesday 🧠

Yesterday, we hosted an internal where we explored new ways of approaching and understanding our projects.

These sessions are a great chance for our engineers to practise presenting and exchange new ideas with the team 🗨️

This , we're celebrating with Max in the office! 🐾

Max is our very own Wellbeing Chomp-ion, always ready to brighten everyone’s day with a wag and a smile. He reminds us to take a break, enjoy the moment, and look after our wellbeing — one tail wag at a time.

September Staff Social 🔫

This month’s staff social took us to Clay’s Bar in the City for some digital clay pigeon shooting!

It turned out to be trickier than it looked at first, but once we got the hang of it the competition heated up quickly.

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2025 ☕🍰

For the past couple of years, we’ve proudly taken part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning each September. Every time, we’re grateful for the amazing bakes brought in and the generous donations from the GSE team.

This year’s coffee morning was held on Monday, and there were more than enough cakes to go around — we’re still enjoying some now!

A huge thank you to everyone who baked, donated, and joined us in supporting such an important cause. 💚

Last year, we were delighted to welcome a student into the GSE Office for their Work Experience placement.

This week, they reached out to share some incredible news: they’ve secured a place at Imperial College to study Engineering! 🎉

We’re so proud to see their hard work and ambition paying off, and it’s inspiring to know that opportunities like work experience can play a part in shaping future paths.

Wishing them every success as they take this exciting next step! 🚀

Posters are going up, and we’re spreading the word so colleagues know when and where to join us and hopefully we'll have a spread like we did last year!

Is anyone else taking part in a Macmillan Coffee Morning?

Last week, we were pleased to welcome Chinh to join us for his work experience placement. During his time with us, he worked on a number of tasks and gained insight into how we operate.

One of the highlights of his placement was the research and preparation he carried out on Battersea Power Station, which he then brought together in a well-prepared presentation.

He did a great job presenting, showing how much he’d learned and the hard work he put into it.

There’s nothing like having a four-legged friend in the office — they bring energy, joy, and the occasional reminder to step away from the screen for a quick walk.

Having a dog around is more than just fun; it sparks conversations, reduces stress, and makes the workplace feel a little more like home.
