I can’t believe no one suitable has stepped up for Nina
She just CANNOT stay in kennels in her current health condition…. Since she suffered her stroke she has been wobbly on her feet, head really tilted to one side and she does lean into circles quite a bit.
Nina loves humans and loves walks and just wants to be with you in a soft caring home rather than her current 4 concrete walls…

Please share again, she needs far more than we can do for her which is huge for us but barely anything for a home.

We are in Preesall FY6, we can transport Nina for the right home.

Good evening fans. It is with great sadness that we write this post, and in these difficult economic times we do not reach out lightly, but we desperately need your help. We need as many supporters as possible to help us to cover our dogs in kennels.

We are in the very unusual position of having 3 RBU dogs in kennels, with a total bill of £1178.50 a month, and a 4th dog, Nala, about to go to kennels. The team is working hard on trying to find adopters for Apolo, Buddy, Elmo and Nala, but applications are at an all time low. What this means is we are having to divert any general funds from our rescue work in Romania in order to cover kennel fees. So far we have managed to continue to send funds to rescuers in Romania to help feed the dogs and cats they have already rescued. But at the end of the month we will be in the heartbreaking position of the coffers being empty. We need you, lots of you, and with your help we can continue to help the rescuers in Romania and we can make sure our RBU dogs are not forgotten.

Would you be willing to make a regular monthly donation to see us through this period please? We make a promise to each and every dog when we bring them from Romania that we will always be there for them. But we can only do it with your help

We start the week with some very sad news from Safe Garden. Our beautiful soul Bilu has crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈 . Bilu was rescued in December 2018 when he introduced himself to Andreea Anda whilst she was out shopping. There was no way she could leave such a gentle giant at the mercy of the streets. Bilu was already approximately 6 years old at this point. Sadly, despite posting him regularly over the years we never did find Bilu a home. But he knew love at Safe Garden. He spent years with best pal Lucy, until she crossed the rainbow bridge in 2023. They played together, they lay together in the sunshine. They had plenty to eat and got the best veterinary care. Above all, Bilu knew love from Andreea and her mum, and had the love of the Stray2Me team. Bilu will live on in our hearts. Our thoughts are with Andreea and Maria this morning. 💔💔

Wow, what a successful day. 56 dogs & cats spayed & neutered by the incredible Carmen Pericleanu and her team in the village of Istria. That's hundreds of Strays saved through this one day of effort, because they won't be born into a world that doesn't want them. Those animals without microchips were also microchipped and registered to their owners, another step in educating people about responsible animal ownership.

Suz's Charity Fundraising has raised funds to cover 50 spays for this spay campaign, and a recent post has raised for another 3 plus £25 towards a 4th. Can we raise the extra £7 and 2 more spays please? Our general funds are under huge pressure at present so sadly allocated elsewhere.

Each spay is 200 Ron, so approximately £32.

Just £32 to save more cats or dogs being born into hardship.

Apolo came to the UK in January 2026 after having spent 4 years in a shelter in Romania. He is in kennels in Lancashire and available to meet. Apolo is a happy, friendly lad who needs a gentle introduction to the joys of living in a home.

He is comfortable with most dogs but can be selective so if you have a resident dog then you must be willing to travel to the kennels with your dog for a couple of meets.
💙 Ideal home: preferably adopters with knowledge and experience of Romanian dogs, who understand the process of decompression and can support Apolo to transition to living in a home. Access to a garden and plenty of rural or semi-rural walks. Apolo could potentially live with another kind, female dog. Once settled, Apolo will enjoy meeting new people and having new adventures.

This coming Saturday, 30th May, Carmen Pericleanu will be running a spay campaign for people from the local area who have dogs and cats but have not had them sterilised due to lack of funds / lack of transport to the vet / lack of education of the importance of sterilisation. Campaigns like this are vitally important and we are proud, with your support, to help Carmen in this vital endeavour.

Did you know that a female dog can have 2 pregnancies a year, giving birth to between 6 and 10 puppies, sometimes more? So if we take the top figure of 10, that's potentially 20 puppies being born into difficult circumstances. Another 20 dogs for welfare organisations to help.

For female cats they can give birth up to 3 times a year, with a litter between 4-6 kittens.

And obviously puppies and kittens go on to mature and add to the problem so spaying and neutering is absolutely vital to help to decrease the number of unwanted animals.

Carmen is aiming to spay 50 animals on Saturday and Suzanne Cooper has been busy raising funds with her stalls and Facebook Marketplace, but there are always more people needing help than we have raised for, so anything you can spare would be throughly appreciated.

Each spay is 200 Ron, so approximately £32.

Whatever is donated will be ring fenced, even if it isn't used on the day.
