Pretty sure I’ve annoyed my espresso bar by feeding the pigeons and hooded crows 🐦‍⬛ (Still a loyal customer though)
And catching up with SIMON & THE STARS . We met two summers ago at Soho House and realised we have a lot in common: both astrologers, both Aquarius, both Leo rising, and we both fell into astrology after other careers (me finance, him law). This October we’re having very similar transits, and our books come out two days apart. Make of that what you will 😉

Mars has just moved into Leo and it’s already causing trouble. Substack has some sort of weird glitch and accidentally deleted half my subscribers and I can’t talk to a human about it. If you’re a fellow Fixed sign person (Leo/Aquarius/Scorpio and Ta**us) expect challenges forthcoming. We start the week with malefic Mars in Leo immediately opposing plotting Pluto in Aquarius, not an easy combination.

But it’s not just that Mars and Pluto are locked in some cosmic tussle, like two young, majestic male elk looking to rule the herd and breed maximally.

In our personal lives, Mars opposite Pluto means power struggles. Mars will move into Virgo later this year, but it retrogrades in 2027 back into Leo, which means whoever you pick a fight with now, you’ll have to face again later. Meaning: you don’t need to get into some potentially violent debate with your Uber driver over whether Lebron is better than MJ. That same driver could pick you up in 2027 still butthurt by your acerbic barbs...and cause trouble.

There are many other difficult transits this week, including a wonky Venus retrograde of which my inspiration for this week’s cover Best & Worst cover Star. We can sometimes make bad style choices when Venus turns backwards. So no shopping this week. You could emerge looking like a ripped-denim mall rat on m**h (see: Jesse Pinkman, Breaking Bad, c. 2008).

Ambitious Mars enters performative Leo today. The self is not given in advance but produced through the practices by which it makes itself visible. NGL this week is fkn ruff. Mars has only just entered my rising sign (Leo) and I already had to deal with substack removing half my subscribers in a glitch. If you too are a fixed rising sign or sun sign (Leo/ Scorpio/ Ta**us or Aquarius) expect challenges this week. There’s not much sugar coating.
