It has been thrilling seeing this brought to life in such an incredibly short time. In just 5 days an incredible band of singers under the musical direction of Harvey Brough and theatrical direction of Paulette Randall with Ellen Cairns’ spare stage design created one of the most absorbing and fascinating contemporary operas that Hall has ever staged. The orchestra had a single day’s run through!

The challenging and often shocking libretto by Carole Hayman - - was beautifully complemented by Brough’s terrific score. Already there is interest in taking it further. serial killers

🎭 THE HIVE SPOTLIGHT ON:
Lawrence Thackeray is a Mancunian Tenor whose operatic career has so far seen him perform Rodolfo La Bohème, Alfredo La Traviata, Tamino The Magic Flute, Peter Quint The Turn of the Screw, Ruggero La Rondine, Don Jose Carmen, amongst others. Companies worked for include Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Wexford Festival Opera, Opera North, Grange Park Opera, Garsington Opera, Opera Ireland, Bergen National Opera and Silent Opera at the Bejing International Music Festival. Lawrence was a finalist in The Mastersingers Vocal Competition for Young Wagnerian Singers in January 2022
