We had a hack day and something magical happened. World, say hello to the newest member of Mighty Sharp: ‘Happi’ our chatbot and new Chief Happiness Officer!
Happi logs employee happiness through daily interactions with our team on Slack, and replaces our existing happiness tracker (built using Google Forms), which - after three years of use - was begging for a snazzy upgrade.
Happi uses Natural Language Processing to allow our team to enter natural language in response to the question “how was your day today?”. This is then processed into one of three answers - ‘good’, ‘ok’ or ‘bad’ - which is stored on a database for the team’s line managers to access ahead of our 6-weekly retrospectives. The team have the option of adding notes, and Happi sends them (with some black humour) on their way.
We’re testing Happi internally - with her sharp cheeky wit she needs to be taught to pipe down before we can let her loose - but before long we’ll be publicly launching her for use on any Slack team.
