A shocking development has emerged in the Kashmir dispute.

In March 2025, India banned Mirwaiz Umar Farooq's Awami Action Committee under UAPA, accusing it of separatism and anti-state activities.

Now, a notification circulating from Azad Jammu & Kashmir appears to show the banning of the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JK-JAAC/JAAC/AAC) under anti-terror legislation.

How is it possible that entities with similar names are being targeted on both sides of the Line of Control?
