Garston Animal Rescue, Registered Charity Number 701001, aims to rescue, rehabilitate and where possible rehome abandoned animals. What are feral cats?

Please use this link to donate: https://linktr.ee/garstonanimalrescue Where it all began
The rescue began by chance in 1984 with the rescue of a mother cat and her five new-born kittens who had been found in a bin in Liverpool city centre. This dreadful incident served to highlight the plight of unwanted pet animals across the city and so Garston Animal Rescue was born. A few years late we sought

IMPORTANT ALERT ... PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS IN OUR POSTS. Scammers have infested some of our posts saying that we've got a Tshirt made of the Lidl cat who had piping stuck round her neck (you may recall this poor cat, who our amazing volunteers managed to trap, and get to the vet, who removed the piping, and the cat was reunited with her distressed owner). The scammers are trying to get people to click on a link to reserve this non-existent Tshirt. This is a SCAM, SO PLEASE IGNORE. We are told that this sort of thing has been happening to other rescues but we have no details of this.

๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒˆ ** UPDATE ** LAST NIGHT, the 5th May, we took a phone call from the devastated owners of Cheddars. He had that day been found deceased, and his owners are absolutely grief-stricken. All we can do is send our love, condolences and support to Cheddars' adopters, and thank them for giving him a lovely life the past 6 years. RIP Darling Cheddars ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒˆ ** We've just had a call from one of our adopters - this beautiful cat, called Cheddars, who they adopted as a kitten, is now MISSING. Lost in the Penny Lane L18 area. All the usual advice has been passed to our distressed adopter. If you hear anything at all we'd really appreciate any information. Missing since Sunday evening 26th April, Cheddars is microchipped.

In the last few weeks the lovely Bella, Maggie, Smudge, Tulip and Bluebell have all left the Rescue to go to their new homes. We're delighted that these beautiful cats are being given the chance of a happy life with their lucky adopters. Sadly, we've had very little interest in Leslie, who is still with us. This is a fresh appeal to find the handsome Leslie the loving home he so deserves!

Leslie has been with us for a few months now. He's FIV+ which means we can't let him free range or come into contact with the other cats. The poor boy has to stay in a cage here and it's heartbreaking for all of us (so how much worse is it for him?!). He positively craves attention and cuddles, and will cry out to our volunteers when they enter the room, telling them not to forget about him. We desperately need a kind person to foster or adopt Leslie so he can become a happy house cat. He needs to live indoors and needs to be an only cat or live with other cats who have FIV. Obviously, he doesnโ€™t need to live in a cage once heโ€™s adopted. If you or anyone you know could be the very loving Les's hero or heroine, please get in touch. Home check and adoption fee applies.

For more information on how to care for a cat with FIV, please follow this link:https://www.cats.org.uk/media/biwhb0vt/fiv-and-felv-2025.pdf - which is info from Cats Protection, the well-known experts in all things cat-related. And, of course, weโ€™re more than happy to answer any questions you may have about Leslie or this condition. Call 07717 164038 or message us on here, or email [email protected].

Please, please share to increase the chances of getting the perfect home for this charming boy ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒผ xx
