Clare & Gary from our Darrel service, have been enjoying Clare’s 46th birthday week.

Celebrations started over the weekend going out for a dance at a karaoke bar, supported by the Darrel staff team. Clare & Gary really enjoyed dancing the day away followed by a nice meal at a city centre restaurant. Today they had an all you can eat buffet at Cosmo followed by a party at the service. All service users celebrated with Clare to wish her a happy birthday.

Learning Disability Week is an annual UK event taking place this week- June 15 to 21, 2026.

Led by the charity Mencap, the 2026 theme is “Do you see me?”. It is all about celebrating the achievements of people with a learning disability, being seen, heard and valued, along with challenging societal barriers.

Watch out for stories from our own Expect Service Users to celebrate their achievements across our website and pages this week.

Lizzy has been enjoying a cooking session with the gang at our Bowersdale Resource Day Centre (BRC) recently. She made chicken kebab flatbread's.

Sharon's favourite singer is Michael Jackson. She went to see the 'Michael' movie and really enjoyed it.

Joe has had a busy week. He visited the gym, had a drumming session at the BRC and went to see a film at the cinema.
