At Make, we believe that places are shaped by the people who use them. The future of Birkenhead Town Hall belongs to the people who care about it, contribute to it, and can see its potential.

Through collage, creativity and conversation, we shared memories, mapped possibilities and reflected on what this iconic civic building could mean for generations to come.

There's something powerful about gathering around a building designed for public life and asking what life might look like here in the future.

Stories of the Town Hall’s history sat alongside ideas for what comes next, reminding us that the most meaningful futures are often built from a deep understanding of place.

Our work has always centred on unlocking the potential of buildings through creativity, community and participation. Time and again, we’ve seen that when people are given the opportunity to shape the places around them, they create futures that are richer, more ambitious and more connected than any single organisation could imagine alone.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today, shared their thoughts and helped start an important conversation about what Birkenhead Town Hall could become.

The best chapters in a building’s story are still waiting to be written.

NEXT WEEK!

Calling all Wirral independents, creatives, and freelancers! 📣

If you’re running a local business or working for yourself and you care about the community, you’re part of our Social Economy. We’re getting together at Make Hamilton to celebrate that.

This isn't a "business suits" networking event. It’s a proper chance to:

Meet like-minded people from across the Wirral.

Share a few ideas (and a glass of wine).

Find those unexpected collaborations that only happen when we’re in the same room.

We’ll also be joined by Chris Lee, who’ll be chatting about his journey building in Birkenhead and supporting the next generation of local entrepreneurs.

Come have a nosy, meet someone new, and let's see what we can build together.

📍 Where: Make Hamilton, 69-71 Argyle Street, Birkenhead
📆 When: 18th June, 17th September & 19th November

Good ideas don’t always have to start from scratch.

So when the gang at asked us to collaborate on a piece for Liverpool Music Month at we had one of our favourite installations in mind.

A few tweaks and a fresh new look meant we could transform it for a new moment in the city.

Transforming spaces is what we love doing most. And watching .aldag performing alongside it wasn’t bad either.

Join in: Help us power the movement at FLIPIM 2026 🤝

FLIPIM 2026 is on the horizon and the energy is building. Now, we’re looking to assemble the final partners who want to join in and help the good things happen.

Sponsorship and Partnership is how FLIPIM will bring the grassroots to Birkenhead. It goes beyond a logo and good words, it’s putting weight behind your values and supporting people who drive change from the bottom up.

The Target 🎯

We’re being upfront about what it takes to bring this together. We already have great partners onboard, but we need a few more to hit our goal.
● Help from sponsors & partners so far is £12,325
● The current minimum goal for delivering FLIPIM this year £3,500 t
● We want to create as much access for the grassroots as possible, so we have a stretch goal of £19,000

Are our values, your values?

When you pay into FLIPIM, you aren't just "funding an event" - you are the engine behind the Social Value we create. Your support directly enables:

Equity: Paying our contributors and speakers fairly for their time and expertise.
Accessibility: Keeping ticket prices affordable so the people actually doing the work can be in the room.

Grassroots Voices: Putting EDI into practice by ensuring those often sidelined are at the heart of the conversation.

Ready to enable the work?
If your organisation wants to help us hit that £3,825 mark and stand alongside grassroots leaders, we want to hear from you.

📩 Get in touch: [email protected] to discuss how you can Join in.

Or, join us in person on 24th September - register for your ticket here: 👇
