Probate application fee set to increase from July 2026 25/06/2026

Upcoming changes to probate application fees

From 13 July 2026 (subject to parliamentary approval), the probate application fee is due to increase from £300 to £526 for estates valued at £5,000 or more.

This is a significant increase that could affect executors, administrators and families dealing with the administration of an estate. It also highlights the importance of planning ahead and understanding the probate process.

Our partners at Kings Court Trust have published a helpful blog explaining:

What is changing and when
Who may be affected
Changes to the cost of additional copies of a Grant
Why early planning is becoming even more important

If you're supporting someone through estate administration or simply want to understand the upcoming changes, it's well worth a read.

💙 Supporting Carers Before, During and After Bereavement 💙

As Carers Week comes to a close, we reflect on the importance of recognising and supporting carers at every stage of their journey.

At Funeral Experts, our commitment extends beyond bereavement support. We work with carers before a death occurs, during end-of-life care, immediately following a bereavement and as individuals begin to rebuild their lives.

Through practical assistance, emotional support, welfare benefit guidance, grant applications, community partnerships and compassionate conversations, we help ensure nobody faces these challenges alone.

Together, we can continue building carer friendly communities where carers are recognised, valued and supported every day of the year.

💙 When Caring Ends, Support Shouldn't 💙

For many carers, the death of the person they have been caring for can leave a huge void.

Alongside grief, they may face practical challenges, financial pressures, loneliness and the loss of a role that has shaped their daily life for months or even years.

At Funeral Experts, we continue supporting carers after bereavement. We provide practical help, emotional support and ongoing guidance whilst people adjust to life after caring. When the time is right, we help individuals reconnect with activities, support networks and opportunities that can help them rebuild confidence and regain independence.

Support doesn't end when caring ends.

💙 Supporting Carers Through End-of-Life Care 💙

Caring for someone at the end of their life can be one of the most difficult experiences a person will ever face.

At Funeral Experts, we provide both practical and emotional support to carers during this challenging time. Whether it's helping someone access welfare benefits, apply for grants and other financial support, understand what assistance may be available following a bereavement, or simply being there to listen when things feel overwhelming, we are here to help.

Many carers tell us they feel isolated and unsure where to turn. Our role is not only to provide information but to offer compassionate support, helping people navigate the realities of caring and prepare for what lies ahead.

No one should have to face end-of-life care alone.

Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 💜

We never forget how people make us feel during the hardest moments of our lives.

Bereavement can affect every part of a person’s wellbeing, emotionally, mentally, physically and practically.

That’s why compassionate action is for all of us.

🟣 Recognising when someone may be struggling following a bereavement.
🟣 Taking time to listen with kindness and empathy.
🟣 Understanding how grief can affect mental health and daily functioning.
🟣 Encouraging people to access support before they reach crisis point.
🟣 Signposting or referring someone to services that may help them feel supported and less alone.
🟣 Working together across health, social care, bereavement and community services to provide timely support.

At Funeral Experts, we know collaborative working and compassionate conversations can make a significant difference during some of the most difficult times in a person’s life.

Sometimes one conversation, one referral, or one act of support can change how someone copes moving forward 💜

If you, or someone you know, may benefit from bereavement or end-of-life support, Funeral Experts are here to help.
