Bridge Inn Angling Club
Local fishing club covering Linlithgow and Bo'ness and further afield. We fish mainly boat outings with a couple of bank outings occasionally.
Great day on Glensherup for all.... well apart from me who decided to leave all the trout alone.
Praise for Jim and Iain who returned about 18 after they bagged up. Total catch for the 8 rods was 19 fish for 42 lbs 8 oz. Quality, hard fighting trout as always. And a bonus for us was seeing the local osprey having a go as well...

Tough day on the Black Loch where 7 rods landed just 9 trout for 20 lbs 12 oz. Seeing as it’s World Cup time, today was like a game of 2 halves. Bright and sunny in the morning when several boats apart from ourselves were seen hammering fish. Myself and Ian saw 1 chap land 4 in about 10 mins. Think he was on a Di-3 line and stripping at a medium pace. We managed 4 by 11.30 but after that the fish seemed to go down, despite there being more cloud in the afternoon but the wind did pick up. 4 of our 5 fish were on buzzers in the morning on a sink tip, Ian’s final fish taking a b***y. There was a hatch pretty much all day long, mostly buzzers though we did see a few sedge, damsels and the occasional Daddy.
Current Championship leader is Jim Liddell on 176 points, closely followed by Ricky on 169. Table attached.

We need to go here next season....
A fine day on Sunday on the Black Loch. Blessed with perfect conditions for the 2nd outing in a row - aren't we lucky - 8 rods landed 31 trout for 68 lbs 4 oz with another 10 or so returned. Diawl Bachs and Buzzers were the order of the day. We didn't catch any of the newly stocked "silver trout" but 1 did smash me on a double hook up when it went tail walking. Didn't realise at first as I only saw the silver jump into the air a few times, then when I got the fish nearer, it was a rainbow and my tail fly was long gone. Hard fighting trout though they were a bit on the small side, 1 of mine weighed just 1 lbs 9 oz. Considering it's £28 for a 5 fish limit then another £5 per angler for the petrol engine hire it's a dear day out. One to be reviewed at the AGM.

Sadly missed but not forgotten. One of the nicest, laid back guys you could ever meet. Proudly holding a cracking 12 pounder from Stenhouse. R.I.P. Barry Anderson.
Tough day for some of us on Stenhouse. Apart from Barry who landed a stonker of 12 lbs 5 oz in his bag of 3 for 16 lbs 15 oz. Biggest trout I've seen in my 8 years in the club. Total catch for 6 rods was 16 fish for 43 lbs 3 oz. Barry's big fish took a black buzzer. Well done dude...
Looking forward to Sunday and the first club outing of the season on Linlithgow Loch. Might be tad chilly going by the forecasts so wrap up well and don't forget the thermal long johns....
