Brainy Craft || Lágbájá

The name is a Yoruba word meaning anonymous. It is a popular word in the Yoruba culture, an embodiment of the Yoruba roots.
I have always loved arts of this nature, creating this was so fun. The combination of colours have specific meaning linked to the Yoruba culture, hence the riot of colours.

The artwork uses simple shades of brown to represent black beauty. The whole pattern is used to represent black pride and culture in form of body marks.

I have always wanted to create a chess piece but didn't know which was best to create. Then this idea came!
I named this artwork double face because it shows how powerful perspective works. As a rook in a chess game can also be a queen when turned upside down. Isn't that nice?

It’s been a while I have created an artifactual artwork. It’s interesting how pleasant they look.
The best part of creating this artwork was that every mistake had a purpose. The horns are a depiction of a tied figure and the idea behind the work is to infill calmness in the spaces.

For the past few weeks, I took a break from creating and in those times, I got to experience a different form of art, one with a simple outlook.
With this design, I literally wanted a soothing tone with a feel of need, care and warmth. The brushes are contextual representation of imperfections and a way of creating a strong background.

Creating this design was probably needed for my subconscious, as it has been one hell of a week for my conscious mind. I find it pleasing, warming and relaxing. Try looking at it with a clear mind.
I made sure the trio colours I would use resonates and the background feels calm. The colours are specially used to catch attention. It is simple in order to show peace and ease.

This shape initially came as a mistake. But then it served as a template for my initial idea.
It is a blend between vibration and the haphazard movement of shape and colour. This is visible in any well vibrated object. Perhaps not the best of representation, but a design can take so many forms.

Probably one of the quickest designs I ever made. Swift and calm, good work flow!
I literally had the idea immediately I woke up from bed, and that was unusual. But you never know when ideas drop. The tweaking I made to the design are just the colours and some added shapes. They are basically groups of geometric shapes.

I can't really describe the inspiration of this art to its maxim, but I literally just wanted to create an image that reveals colours when mixed together - water colour. But at the same time, looking like pieces of wavy ribbons.
I tried following a pattern with the colours to keep it uniformed. The sharp edges are meant to draw the idea of the art to context - pieces of ribbons.
