Councillor Ruraidh Stewart
Ruraidh Stewart,
Highland Councillor since 2022. Leader of the Highland Conservative Group. Vice Chair of Highland Council Audit Committee.

Alongside Cllr Isabelle MacKenzie, I’ve raised serious safeguarding and community concerns, while the Highland Council administration continues to soft-pedal its opposition instead of standing up for local families and our communities.
I welcome Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp’s intervention and his call for a public meeting, so local people are finally heard. You can read his full letter here https://tinyurl.com/Letter-to-Home-Secretary
Raising legitimate concerns about safety, services and community impact is not “prejudiced nonsense.” Cllr Michael Cameron SNP is using that as a dog whistle to shut down honest debate.
Will asylum seekers arrive at Cameron Barracks in Inverness this month as proposed after the Home Office plan proved to be the most toxic and divisive issue of the year? Read more below ⬇️

I’ve spoken out about serious concerns over the Home Office plan to house up to 300 adult male illegal migrants at Cameron Barracks, imposed without proper engagement with The Highland Council or local families.
This site sits next to family housing, schools, and homes of serving military families.
I’m grateful to the Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp for raising these concerns directly with the Home Secretary. Decisions of this scale must put community safety first and involve the people affected.
Government’s first duty is to protect its people. Families come first.

If you want to see a council that listens, make your voice heard and vote for Julia Peill today.
Today's the day! It has been great getting out across the ward meeting people. I'd love to be able to continue as your councillor.

Polling day is this week! (11th Dec)
My son told me that I shouldn't complain about things if I wasn't willing to sort them out. That seems fair enough to me. The issues we all know- waiting for the Belford build, getting a new Corran Ferry, an upgrade to roads- I don't just want to complain about them, I want to help fix them.
As an Ardmamurchan local where I run my business it would be an honour to represent my home at Highland Council. I hope you'll consider giving me your #1 vote.

As Mrs Thatcher, reminded us“Pennies do not come from heaven. They have to be earned here on earth.”
As does the public’s trust. Kemi’s comments underline that point Accurate information isn’t optional . Sack Reeves now
Sack Rachel Reeves Now Her budget raised our taxes by BILLIONS and she lied to the public about the OBR's predictions, she cannot stay in office.

Rachel Reeves lied to the British people, so she had an excuse to raise your taxes and pay for more benefits.
This is unforgiveable. She has to go.

While Labour and the SNP force taxpayers to pay more and more, we believe you deserve to keep more of your own hard-earned money.
