Dour can be used to describe a person, place or situation... and often the weather in Scotland. It also has origins in the Gaelic word dúr.

Have you seen the world's oldest surviving tartan brought 'back to life'?

Around 40 years ago, a long-lost piece of tartan was discovered in a Glen Affric peat bog. It has now been recreated by historians and fashion experts as a wearable fabric!

Radiocarbon testing dated the original Glen Affric tartan piece between 1500 and 1600. This would have been during the rule of the Stuart monarchs, including Mary, Queen of Scots.

The Glen Affric tartan is now part of House of Edgar’s “Seventeen Eighty Three Collection,” and is available to purchase.
