A fantastic day at the Hall for Cornwall last week for SongFest 2026 with Asone Music Hub! 🎶

Our children joined schools from across Cornwall as part of a mass choir, performing songs they’ve been learning all term. They also enjoyed listening to a range of musicians and youth choirs.

They represented Halwin School beautifully — we couldn’t be prouder!

Wishing everyone a joyful Easter! We’re delighted to share some photos from our recent visit to Trinity Church. A big thank you to the church community for hosting the whole school so warmly, providing every child with a snack and a lovely Easter activity bag. A truly special Easter visit.

Thank you for supporting our non-uniform day in aid of Penhaligons Friends. The children enjoyed a sunny day in their own clothes while helping raise money for a very special cause, chosen by the Crofty Education Trust Pupil Parliament. This week, Halwin pupils explored in action by taking part in the Crofty Education Trust Parliament Vote.

Every child had the chance to cast their vote — choosing between planting a Crofty ‘Forest’ across all 18 schools 🌳 or creating a trust-wide art gallery to celebrate creativity 🎨

Another awesome Wellbeing Wednesday at Halwin!

Well done to the pupils who represented Halwin to help count ballot papers today from the Crofty Education Trust Parliament vote.

A big thank you to RNLI Lifeguards Matt and Tara for visiting Halwin to deliver vital water safety education and highlight the importance of staying safe around water. They also explained the role RNLI lifeguards play on our beaches, helping to keep everyone safe while enjoying the coast. This assembly was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to learn practical safety advice, understand beach flags and hazards, and find out more about the important work the RNLI does to protect beachgoers every day

As part of their RE learning, Kingfishers class explored Rosh Hashanah, discovering the symbolism behind traditions such as challah bread and apples with honey, which represent hopes for a sweet new year. The children loved tasting these foods and learning about their meaning

A huge thank you to the Friends of Halwin school for organising and funding a fantastic visit from local illustrator Emily Luke. Everyone took part in creative workshops, and the children were fully engaged from start to finish. They showed brilliant focus, creativity, and teamwork as they developed ideas for a shared “big book”

Our Year 5 and 6 FIRST LEGO League team had a great day at the regional finals at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose yesterday. They dressed to impress, inspired by their team name: The Halwin Hard Hats and designed their pit area to match. It was a busy but fun day, including presenting their innovation project to the judges, taking part in three robot missions, and enjoying all the activities on offer. Congratulations to Mrs Carr and Mrs Ellis who received the Team Coaches Award.
