Many thanks to everyone who came along to our cream tea and bingo special event on Thursday, May 14. It was a wonderful success and we raised about £300, all of which goes to keep open our community library. It was an enormous amount of work but well worth it. There are too many people to thank, so apologies if anyone has been missed out. Special thanks to Kim and Sharon who put months of work into it and it showed. Thank you to the team of waitresses and tea makers - Norma, Christine M, Steph and Ann and also to our lovely cake makers, Marian, Sheila and Jane J. Also, thank you to everyone who lent us their precious heirloom crockery. I don't think we broke any which is a relief, and for tables too. Many thanks to Harrogate Theatre who lent us various items, Starbeck Co-op who gave us jam and cream and the lovely Sharon from Art of Hair who lent us glasses and paid for the license. Look out for posters about next event on July 5 with cakes, tombola and name the bear!
