There is a big event at the ice rink today. Here is 10 tons of old ice plant being lifted out.
And here is the new plant ready to go in.
We will be back as scheduled for Curling at the end of September.
Skating resumes on the 10th October (as on the 3rd we host our round of the national under 17s competition.

We will be the venue for a Scottish Curling level 1 coaching course on the 4th October.

Hi all curlers,

We hope that you are enjoying this weather!
Lanarkshire Ice Rink has formed a new Curling Development Group. This group is proposing to establish a new format stick curling league to add to our existing curling and we'd like to invite you along to try out this different format.

Who is it aimed at?
EVERYONE!!
There is no limit to who can play. No-one is too young or too old!
Anyone at any age or physical condition may choose to try this format.
The use of a curling delivery stick is an alternative delivery method for players who may have issues with the traditional curling slide.
Some people will transition to using a stick when they’ve sustained an injury or their flexibility is reduced.


How is it played?
It involves only 4 curlers, two curlers alternate delivering six stones each per end, while their teammates skip that end.
Then the roles are reversed.
No sweeping until it crosses the tee line.
All games are six ends. 1 hour session.
Each stone must be delivered with a delivery stick, from a standing or sitting (in a wheelchair) position.
A taster session with coaching to try out this new format prior to establishing this new league is planned for the start of the new season in October.

Ladies of Hamilton - entries direct to Scottish Curling for Henderson Bishop by 30th June

There are a number of ladies Curling Clubs which play during the day at Hamilton but there are very few daytime opportunities for gents curling other than as part of a team entry to the West of Scotland or Seniors Leagues.
East Kilbride & Haremyres Curling Club (EKHCC) are looking to hold a gents competition next season where individuals enter and teams are drawn prior to the start of the season.
To ensure sufficient numbers to make this a worthwhile competition, the club would like to invite members of other clubs to take part. There will be no requirement to pay a membership fee to EKHCC if you wish to take part and the proposal is that games will be at 12.15pm on Thursdays.
