🏉RE-SIGNING NEWS🏉
The club are delighted to announce that Scott Sutcliffe has committed to the club for the 26/27 season. Here’s what the coaches had to say:
“Another great character to have at the club and a joker amongst the lads. Scott is a fantastic athlete and has the natural ability under the high ball which are both key for his role. Scott raised with me that he would like to develop himself as a player this year and understand the game more. I’m confident Jow and I can help him with this. He is already a solid player across the board, so I’m excited to see how much more we can get from him.” - Josh MacDonald
“Lightning quick and dangerous if left with any space. A hyper competitive rugby player and a strong hard runner who’s always looking to test himself.” - Paul Jowett 🔵⚪️

🏉RE-SIGNING NEWS🏉
Exciting news as Josh Brown commits to another season as a Vandal. The Siddal fullback is looking to come out swinging for the 26/27 season. Here’s what the coaches had to say:
“Very exciting re-signing for the club. Browny has recently earned himself a fullback spot with neighbours Siddal 1st team, which is fully deserved. It shows how much he has developed himself as a player. Playing NCL rugby week in week out will only grow him as a player further. He will bring a high level of quality to the team and I’m sure he will only get better in both codes as he matures as a player. I look forward to working with him.” - Josh MacDonald
“A competitive utility back who constantly tests himself against the best. Josh always puts the team before himself and is always driving high standards.” - Paul Jowett 🔵⚪️

🏉SUTCLIFFE RE-SIGNS🏉
Callum Sutcliffe has re-signed for another season at the club, with eyes on a big season after getting his 1st XV tie last season. Here’s what the coaches said:
“Cal was pulled into the First team towards the end of last season. He impressed both me and a number of others by the way he stepped up to the mark when the team needed him. He’s shown a lot of enthusiasm already in the lead up to this season and should he apply himself, there’s no reason he can’t compete this season again. Needs to work on his kangaroo court appearances though, otherwise it will be another expensive year!” - Josh MacDonald
“A Vandal through and through, Cal is following in his dads footsteps and never takes a step back. Bringing energy and a willingness to learn.“ - Paul Jowett 🔵⚪️

We’re delighted to share that Ben Simms will be returning as 2nd XV Coordinator for the upcoming season! 🔵⚪️
The club are also excited to share that Dave French will be captaining the 2nd XV for 26/27, leading the lads in his 10th season with the club. 🔵⚪️
“As a coaching group, we not only want to develop the players at the club but we want to make the Second team competitive. Playing regular fixtures against strong opposition sides in turn will only make the younger lads better and support the future of the club. I’m confident there are players in the team that will start giving us selection headaches should they push themselves.
Ben and Frenchy provide all the tools to support this. Their enthusiasm will be key to rally the players around them and support the plan Jow, Ben and I have put together. I think they are a pair that can really push on with the Second team this year and help us identify vital, future talent for the club.” - Josh MacDonald

🏉RE-SIGNED!🏉
Happy to announce that Luke Suttcliffe, one of two Vandals Vice-Captains for 25/26, has committed to another season at the club. Here’s what the coaching team had to say:
“Where to start with this one… Big character both on the field and in the clubhouse; he is clearly a favourite amongst the club and with his teammates. Sutty is such an exciting player to watch on his day. His unpredictability is his best aspect and with ball in hand he is easily one of the best attacking players at the club, scoring some great tries since I’ve been at the club. Another big year for this one ahead.” - Josh MacDonald
“A live wire on and off the pitch, Sutty knows how it feels to win leagues and is experienced in the dark arts of cheeky scrum halvery.” - Paul Jowett

🏉RE-SIGNING NEWS🏉
Exciting news as Tom Fowler, Player’s Player of the Season for 2025/26, has re-signed for our upcoming Yorkshire Counties 2 campaign. Here’s what the coaches had to say:
“Mr Reliable, you know what you’re getting with Tom week in week out and it’s reflected in the fact his teammates voted for him as last seasons Players player. Rightly so. We see a lot of potential in Tom as a player and it shows when he had some standout performances last year. I look forward to seeing how he develops further this season.” - Josh MacDonald
“Tom’s super competitive mentality means he always brings his best game. An intelligent player who has a natural ability to read a game.” - Paul Jowett 🔵⚪️
