🕊️ OFFICIAL REPRESENTATION OF THE HOLY ASCENSION MEN'S MONASTERY IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
Dear friends,
Today, I would like to share an important milestone in our charitable work.
On 17 September 2026, I received an official Letter of Authorisation from the Holy Ascension Men's Monastery of the Vinnytsia-Bar Diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, signed and stamped by its Abbot, Archimandrite Sofroniy.
I am honoured to have been officially authorised to represent the monastery's interests in the United Kingdom.
This authorisation allows me to communicate with churches, charitable organisations, community groups and potential donors, promote the monastery's mission, organise charitable events and support fundraising for its restoration.
❤️ Unity in Every Step and +ONE are joining forces to help restore the monastery.
Our vision goes far beyond rebuilding walls.
We hope to help create a place of spiritual healing and rehabilitation for wounded Ukrainian servicemen, including amputees and those living with prosthetic limbs.
We also want to support the creation of a peaceful retreat for mothers, children, wives and families of fallen or missing Ukrainian soldiers — a sanctuary where those affected by war can find comfort, prayer, understanding and renewed hope.
🧱 +ONE — ONE PERSON. ONE BRICK. ONE SHARED PURPOSE.
Inspired by Guildford Cathedral's historic Buy a Brick campaign, we invite our British and Ukrainian communities to help restore the monastery through symbolic brick donations.
Every donor can receive a personalised certificate from the monastery, and the monastic community will remember its benefactors in their prayers.
📜 I am sharing my official Letter of Authorisation, signed by Archimandrite Sofroniy, to confirm that this initiative is being undertaken with the monastery's knowledge and approval.
Transparency and trust are essential to our work. We want every supporter to know exactly whom they are helping and how their contribution will be used.
HOW TO DONATE FROM THE UK
As we are currently experiencing technical difficulties accepting British bank cards through the monastery's Monobank fundraising page, I can temporarily help transfer donations to the monastery.
For those who prefer to donate in GBP, my personal UK bank details are available in the first comment below. All donations received for this project will be transferred to the monastery, with payment confirmations available upon request.
Alternatively, donors can use the monastery's official Ukrainian bank account.
Please contact me directly if you would like to contribute or learn more.
Thank you to Archimandrite Sofroniy for his trust and blessing, and to everyone who believes in this mission.
Together, we can rebuild more than a monastery. We can help restore hope.
With love and gratitude,
Hanna Zednyk

❤️ Unity in Every Step

🧱 ONE BRICK. ONE PERSON. +ONE. ❤️
Help us rebuild a monastery. Help us restore hope.
Unity in Every Step and +ONE are launching a new charitable initiative to restore the Holy Ascension Men's Monastery in Ivanivka, Ukraine.
Our dream is to create much more than a home for monks. We want this monastery to become a place of healing, prayer and spiritual support for wounded Ukrainian soldiers, amputees, veterans living with prosthetic limbs, and families who have suffered the devastating consequences of war.
We also hope to create a peaceful retreat for mothers and children, and for the wives and sisters of fallen or missing soldiers — a place where they can rest, pray and find comfort.
🇬🇧 Inspired by Guildford Cathedral
After the Second World War, thousands of people helped complete Guildford Cathedral through its famous Buy a Brick campaign.
Today, we invite our friends in Guildford, Surrey and beyond to become part of a similar story of kindness and solidarity.
🧱 BUY A SYMBOLIC BRICK. BECOME +ONE.
Every donation, large or small, brings us one step closer to restoring the monastery.
Every donor can receive a personalised certificate in their name, issued by the monastery, either digitally or in print. Archimandrite Sofroniy and the monastic community will also remember our benefactors in their prayers.
Your brick is more than a contribution to a building. It is a symbol of compassion, faith and hope for those who need it most.
❤️ Please support our initiative, share this post with your friends and help us spread the word throughout our community.
If you would like to donate or learn more about the project, please send us a private message.
Together, we can rebuild more than walls. We can help rebuild lives.
With love and gratitude,
Anna Zednyk/Tykhonova and Archimandrite Sophroniy Chupryna

🕊️ +ONE.
❤️ Unity in Every Step
Archimandrite Sophroniy Chupryna

Some prayers are not simply spoken.
They are carried in the heart.
Today I am praying in English from a place in Ukraine that I deeply hope to see reborn — the Holy Ascension Monastery.
The vision for this place is much greater than rebuilding walls.
We hope that monks will live and pray here again.
That Ukrainian soldiers and veterans, people returning from captivity, and those deeply affected by the war will be able to come here to rest and recover.
That mothers and children who need support will have a safe place to stay.
That there will once again be a garden, a pond, horses and animals — a peaceful place where someone who has lived through the unimaginable can sit quietly, breathe, and begin to feel that life is still here.
And living in Surrey has taught me something very beautiful about what a community can achieve.
After the Second World War interrupted the construction of Guildford Cathedral, there was not enough money to complete it. In 1952, the “Buy a Brick” campaign began.
More than 200,000 ordinary people became brick-givers.
A child could contribute.
A family could contribute.
A couple could contribute.
One person could buy one brick, write their name upon it, and become part of something much greater than themselves.
Those individual bricks helped create what Guildford still proudly calls “The People’s Cathedral.”
And this is exactly what +ONE means to me.
One person.
One prayer.
One brick.
One act of kindness.
One more person who chooses not to walk past.
No one of us needs to rebuild an entire monastery.
But thousands of us can each help rebuild one small part of it.
Perhaps one day we will look at the restored Holy Ascension Monastery in Ukraine in the same way that people in Surrey look at Guildford Cathedral today and know:
I helped build that.
There is a little piece of me there.
We cannot undo what war has taken away.
But together, +ONE by +ONE, we can help create a place where people can begin to rebuild their lives.
Be the +ONE.
