STEM for all! 🚀

What a privilege for The LAB22 to be invited to the SEND day event at Brooklands Museum.

After a short tour of the museum, we were ready to run one of the three activities provided to the school groups.

The LAB22 ran a short lesson on tension and how this connected to potential energy which is then converted to kinetic energy in catapults after which each child built their own catapult.

The day for the children included a tour of the museum, a workshop to create a ‘catcher’ for the final activity and then a group activity to determine how to achieve a consistent arc and distance to aim ping pong balls into the catchers.

Many smiles, happy squeals and learning objectives later, the children left after an informative and creative day.

Well done to Brooklands Museum for organizing a successful event, we look forward to many more.🥳🤩

We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming these wonderful Year 4 groups from Sythwood Primary School to THE LAB22! ✨

It’s a real pleasure to see such enthusiasm and curiosity as the children dive into hands-on STEM experiences in our bespoke lab, working alongside our scientists. Their energy, questions and eagerness to explore truly bring the space to life.

We’re so proud to be part of their scientific journey, sparking curiosity, nurturing creativity, and hopefully inspiring the next generation of great thinkers and innovators.

We can’t wait to see the brilliant ideas they’ll continue to develop, both in the lab and at home! 🌟🔬

🧪🔬 Year 4 STEM enrichment at The LAB22
Year 4 are lucky enough to be visiting The LAB22 for a series of sessions in their bespoke science lab. The children are working alongside real scientists and taking part in hands‑on, curiosity‑driven STEM activities designed to make science fun, accessible and engaging.
These sessions inspire children to question, explore and think like scientists, and the pupils even receive take‑home resources so they can continue investigating and experimenting at home.
A fantastic opportunity to spark curiosity and ignite tomorrow’s big ideas! 🌟

EASTER CAMP 2026 – The Physics of Music 🎼

What a fantastic three days filled with music, discovery, and fun!
Our young musicians dived into the world of sound, exploring how it travels and how we can create it in different ways.

Step by step, they built their very own ukulele, a cheerful instrument with roots in Hawaiian culture and a wonderfully uplifting sound.

Each day revealed a new piece of the puzzle, and excitement grew as their instruments slowly came together.

By the final day, it was time to tune up… and then the real fun began! The room filled with music, smiles, and a brilliant sense of achievement as everyone played together.

A truly joyful experience from start to finish!

They also left with their very own personalised ukuleles, with their names engraved using our laser printer.

See you at the next camp!

EASTER CAMP 2026 – Construction & Architecture 🏗

What an incredible three days of learning, laughter, and creativity!
It was amazing to watch the children grow in confidence, teamwork, and imagination.

Their enthusiasm and engagement truly made this camp special.
Each day brought a brand-new challenge: after a powerful earthquake, a mysterious new island was created, and our young builders had important missions ahead!

From designing bridges to reach the island, to building earthquake-resistant homes and platforms, and even creating parachutes to deliver supplies, there was never a dull moment.

Our constructors absolutely blew us away with their creativity and problem-solving skills!

We hope everyone had as much fun as we did and learned loads along the way.

To top it all off, our young scientists even took home a little rabbit to use with their parachutes, printed on our 3D printer.🐰

See you at the next camp!
