Giving men A BETTER CHANCE of beating Prostate Cancer About our Charity

The Prostate Project is a rapidly growing charity run by volunteers.

In the past 20 years we have raised over £8 million and helped the Royal Surrey County Hospital achieve ‘Centre of Excellence’ status in the treatment of prostate cancer. We support the Royal Surrey County Hospital, St Luke’s Cancer Centre and Frimley Park Hospital in their efforts to detect and treat prostate cancer. We have provided equipment, specialist nursing staff and run an active patient s

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Prostate Project Man Van at the Commonwealth Military Hub event in Aldershot at the weekend.
It was a great event and a fantastic opportunity to talk to people about prostate cancer, answer questions and raise awareness of the work we do.
We were particularly pleased that most of the men tested on the day were from the Black community, who are at a higher risk of developing prostate cancer. We also spoke to lots of people about their risk and whether they might be eligible for testing in the future.
Thank you to the organisers for inviting us along and making us so welcome, and of course to Clive Mumby for taking some brilliant photos of the day.

Following Jeremy Clarkson's recent announcement about his prostate cancer diagnosis, our Trustee Mike Collins spoke to the Daily Mirror about his own experience of the disease.
Mike has been tireless in his efforts to raise awareness of prostate cancer and encourage men to get tested. By sharing his story, he is helping others understand the importance of early detection.
Thank you, Mike, for all that you do to give men a better chance of beating prostate cancer.

Petition: Introduce a screening programme for prostate cancer, starting with high-risk men 19/06/2026

Prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men, yet there is still no national screening programme.
Our friends at Prostate Cancer Research are calling on the Government to introduce targeted screening for men at higher risk, including Black men and those with a family history of the disease.
Early diagnosis saves lives. We believe men deserve the best possible chance of finding prostate cancer early, when treatment is most effective.
If you haven't already, please consider signing and sharing this petition:

Together, we can help make the case for a fairer and more effective approach to prostate cancer detection.

Petition: Introduce a screening programme for prostate cancer, starting with high-risk men We are calling on the Government to reassess the UK National Screening Committee’s (UK NSC) draft recommendation not to offer prostate cancer screening to anyone except men with BRCA1/2 genetic variants, and to introduce screening for all high-risk men.

Should sanitary bins be available in male toilets at the Royal Surrey?
For many men living with urinary incontinence following prostate cancer treatment, the lack of suitable disposal facilities can be a real issue. Some are left carrying used pads home or wearing them for longer than they should.
Please share your views on this through this short anonymous questionnaire. If this affects you, someone you care for, or you simply have an opinion on the subject, please take a few moments to share your thoughts.

Jeremy Clarkson reveals 'aggressive' prostate cancer diagnosis 17/06/2026

We are very sorry to hear about Jeremy Clarkson's prostate cancer diagnosis. His decision to speak puclicly about his experience will help raise awareness of prostate cancer and, hopefully, encourage more men to think about their own prostate health and get checked if they are concerned.
All at The Prostate Project wish Jeremy all the very best with his treatment and recovery.

A big thank you to everyone at Eastwick Road Allotments in Great Bookham who grew and donated plants for charity plant sales in aid of The Prostate Project and the Royal Surrey Charity Breast Unit Fund.
Their hard work and generosity helped raise money for both charities, with the proceeds shared equally between us.
We're very grateful for the support, and to everyone who bought plants and helped make the sales such a success.
