Guildford Opera rehearses every Wednesday evening from 7.30 - 10.00pm at Merrow Methodist Church Hall, Bushy Hill Drive, Guildford GU1 2SH, which has excellent rehearsal space, ample parking and catering facilities. Our next opera, King for a Day, is a fast moving, joyful comedy packed with wit, charm, and Verdi's memorable music. As usual, Guildford Opera are singing in English and accompanied by a chamber orchestra..

Come and enjoy the story of how Mr King, during his stay at the Baron Kelbars home, helps Giulietta, the baron's daughter, sung by Lisa Moffat, to be united with her lover. She is about to be married to La Rocca, a bumbling treasury official, sung by Dick Bacon but she loves Eduardo, La Rocca's penniless nephew, sung by Matt Connelly. With only one day, what plan can Mr King devise to bring the lovers together?
