Today is Autistic Pride Day โ€“ a day to celebrate autistic people, autistic identity, and the value of neurodiversity.

Being autistic is not something that needs to be fixed. It is a natural part of human diversity, bringing unique perspectives, strengths, creativity, and ways of experiencing the world.

At GRASAC, we recognise that autistic survivors can face additional barriers when accessing support and seeking justice. We are committed to creating inclusive, accessible, and trauma-informed services where autistic people are listened to, believed, and supported.

This Autistic Pride Day, we celebrate autistic people for who they are and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring every survivor can access the support they need.

The Prime Minister has announced plans to introduce a social media ban for under-16s, sparking important conversations about how we keep children and young people safe online.

At GRASAC, we see first-hand how online spaces can be used to groom, manipulate, exploit and abuse children and young people. We also know that the digital world can provide connection, community and access to support for those who may be struggling.

As discussions continue, it is important to recognise both the risks and benefits of online spaces and the focus must remain on creating safer online environments, holding platforms accountable, improving digital literacy, and ensuring children and young people can access support when they need it both off and online.

Protecting children and young people from harm is a shared responsibility, and every child deserves to be safe both online and offline.

This Men's Health Week, we're encouraging men and boys to prioritise their wellbeing and remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Too often, harmful stereotypes tell men they should stay silent about their struggles. But talking openly about mental health, relationships, trauma, and life challenges can be the first step towards healing and support.

Whether it's checking in with yourself, reaching out to a friend, or seeking professional help, every step matters.

At GRASAC, we support men and boys who have experienced sexual violence and abuse, providing a safe, non-judgemental space where they can be heard, believed, and supported on their journey towards recovery.

โšฝ The World Cup is here.

For many people, major sporting events are a time of excitement, community and celebration. But we also know that periods of heightened sporting activity can coincide with increases in violence against women and girls, including sexual violence, harassment and domestic abuse.

Abuse is never caused by football, alcohol, or the result of a match. Responsibility always lies with the person choosing to cause harm.

As the tournament begins, let's celebrate respectfully, challenge harmful attitudes, and look out for one another.

Everyone deserves to enjoy sport safely.

๐Ÿ’œ If you have experienced sexual violence, support is available.

We're still basking in the glow of being named Highly Commended in the Charity of the Year category at this year's Lifestyle and Community Awards! โœจ

This recognition means so much to us. Every day, our team works alongside survivors of sexual violence, providing support, advocacy and a voice, and we're incredibly proud that this work has been recognised.

A huge thank you to our staff, volunteers, trustees, partners and supporters who make our work possible. Most importantly, thank you to the survivors who place their trust in us and inspire us every day with their strength and resilience.

Thinking about volunteering but unsure if itโ€™s for you?

There are many misconceptions about volunteering, especially within specialist support organisations.

You do not need to have all the answers, years of experience or unlimited free time to get involved.

At GRASAC:
โœ” Training is provided
โœ” Support and supervision are available
โœ” Flexible opportunities may be possible
โœ” Many roles help build confidence and experience

Volunteering is about compassion, commitment and being willing to contribute in a meaningful way.

Over recent weeks, GRASAC has been privileged to speak at three events across Gloucestershire organised by the Gloucestershire Federation of Women's Institutes.

It was a pleasure to share more about GRASAC's work, our values, our mission, and the growing need for specialist support for survivors of sexual violence in our county. We were also delighted to be joined by GDASS, who delivered an insightful presentation exploring the myths and realities of domestic abuse and the support available across Gloucestershire.

What stood out most was the passion, curiosity, and commitment shown by the women who attended. There was a genuine desire to learn more about violence against women and girls, understand the challenges faced by survivors, and explore how communities can take meaningful action.

Thank you to the Gloucestershire Federation of Women's Institutes for inviting us and creating space for these important conversations. Change happens when people come together, listen, learn, and act, and we left feeling inspired by the dedication of everyone who attended.
