A coffee break random fact from Exeter Science Park πŸ’‘

We name our buildings after scientists and this is the George Parker Bidder building.

Bidder was a Victorian era mathematical prodigy who, as a child, could perform incredibly complex calculations in his head faster than most people could even write them down 🀯

He went on to become a pioneering engineer, helping deliver major railway and harbour projects across Britain and shaping the infrastructure we still benefit from today.

His story is a reminder that behind every building name is a fascinating person who helped change the world in their own way.

Next time you're visiting the Park, take a look around and see how many of our scientist inspired buildings you can spot.
