It's always good to see our parts on a build from one of our distributors. Nico from Aeroelite, , has our T3 titanium turbo blanket fitted here to help reduce heat radiating from the hot exhaust housing.

The nearby oil lines are worth thinking about when you're planning heat management around a turbo. A blanket helps deal with heat at the housing, and checking the route and clearance of those lines is part of the job too.

A hose fitting can be much wider than the hose itself, which makes the way a heat sleeve opens worth checking before you buy.

Our gold Velcro heat sleeve wraps around an existing line, helping shield it from radiant heat without having to slide the sleeve over the fitting. Good routing still comes first: keep the line clear of hot components and moving parts, then use the sleeve where extra heat management is needed.

There's a reason for the gold on this K-swapped Civic EF from . Our reflective tape covers the intake pipe and manifold to help shield those surfaces from radiant heat.

Hot exhaust parts can radiate heat towards an intake without touching it. When you're planning the heat management, look at which surfaces face the heat source, then make sure they're suitable for the tape and properly prepared before applying it.

This close-up from shows our turbo blanket fitted behind the silver compressor housing. The woven cover sits over the exhaust side, where it helps reduce the heat radiating into the rest of the bay.

It's a useful distinction when you're planning heat management: a blanket covers the hot turbine housing, while the compressor and the turbo's connections stay accessible. Check that the blanket sits securely without trapping a line or interfering with moving parts.

We supplied the turbo blanket for this K24 turbo Corolla from . A Honda engine in a KE70 is a proper mix, and we love seeing the detail that goes into a build like this. ๐Ÿ˜

The blanket works at the heat source, covering the hot exhaust housing to help reduce heat radiating into the engine bay. Reflective materials and sleeves can then help protect the surfaces and lines exposed to that heat, giving each part of the heat management its own job.

We've explained how those different types of protection work in our guide:

With around 800bhp as the aim for this CRV, the team at had plenty to think about, including keeping the heat in check. We supplied our T3 carbon turbo blanket and 44mm carbon wastegate blanket for the build. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Both the turbo and external wastegate carry hot exhaust gas. Covering the hot housings helps reduce the heat radiating towards the surrounding parts, so the wastegate deserves attention as well as the turbo when you're planning the heat management.

Our black and grey forged steel wheel nuts are back in stock! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

A big thank you to .rage.13 for being such a great customer and sharing these photos with us. The black set looks right at home on those Konig wheels! ๐Ÿ˜

Forged steel is a good choice if your wheels come off regularly and durability is a priority. When choosing a set, check both your wheel stud thread and the seat in your wheels. These use a 60-degree tapered seat, so matching the thread alone isn't enough.

You can find both colours and choose the thread you need here:

Have a look at the single-turbo conversion on this F80 from . Our titanium T4 blanket is fitted around the exhaust housing to help keep the heat radiating towards the rest of the bay in check. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

If you're choosing a blanket for your own conversion, check the housing dimensions and the space around it. You need room to secure it properly without crowding the nearby pipework and lines.

Our sizing guide shows what to measure, with everything fully cooled down, so you can plan the heat management around your own setup:

There isn't much spare room around the turbo on this EP3 from . Our blanket covers the hot exhaust housing, with the nearby hoses making it clear why heat management needs to be part of the build plan.

The blanket helps reduce the heat radiating from that housing. When you're checking your own setup, follow the nearby hoses as well: give them clearance from the hot parts before adding protection around them.

A paper template makes a job like this much easier to plan. You can see our gold reflective sheet fitted around the inner wings of the Viva from , including a view before the engine went in.

Reflective sheet is designed to help shield the surface underneath from radiant heat. If you're covering a large panel, mark out the openings and check the shape with paper first, before cutting the sheet or peeling off the backing.

You can find our reflective sheet for larger heat management jobs here:
