Each HYDRA-TECH head has a generous onboard capacity, holding up to 70 litres. For shorter showcases, this is often more than enough water.

For longer run times, we recommend a closed-loop recirculation system, allowing water to be collected, filtered, and reused throughout the performance.

A closer look at the flame control system that was behind The Greatest Showman at Bristol Hippodrome 🔥

For this production, we supplied a range of custom flame effects across the stage, all fed from a central gas distribution wall panel.

Designed to supply and control 15 individual flame heads, the system allowed the production team to remotely manage multiple effects from a single location. Each regulator could be independently adjusted to provide the correct gas pressure for the specific flame effect it was supplying.

The panel also incorporated a range of safety features, including manual isolation valves, non-return valves, dual emergency shut-off valves linked to an E-Stop system, and a dedicated gas detection and alarm system.

By centralising both control and monitoring, the production team could operate multiple flame effects efficiently, reliably, and with safety at the forefront!

Here is one of our integrated water distribution systems, engineered especially for the life-like canal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Opening Ceremony. Luke Mills, the Technical Director for the ceremonies, said that Luminous 'provided a service that was beyond expectations'!
