𧡠Something special is happening in Moretonhampstead.
Thread Brothers, delivered in partnership with Wellmoor, is bringing men together in a way that feels natural, relaxed and genuinely enjoyable. No pressure, no expectations, just learning a new skill, spending time together and building confidence along the way.
In just a few weeks, the group has already created their first project, handmade tote bags. Simple, practical and something to be proud of π
Funded by Open Up, this project is all about finding new ways to support mental wellbeing, especially for those who might not connect with traditional services.

To mark Carersβ Week (8β14 June), Open Up has funded 100 Wellbeing Boxes for unpaid carers across Devon π
These boxes are a simple but meaningful way to recognise the vital role carers play every day, offering a moment to pause, reflect and feel supported.
Delivered with the Together Team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust and Devon Carers at Westbank , each box includes thoughtful items, wellbeing resources, and stories from other carers, helping to ensure no one feels alone.

𧡠We're delighted to be supporting Thread Brothers through funding from Open Up.
This fantastic initiative brings men together to learn new skills, build confidence, connect with others and support their wellbeing in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
It's wonderful to see the group's first project completed and we look forward to following their journey over the coming months.
A huge well done to everyone involved, including the team at Wellmoor and Tony for making it such a success. π

One of our amazing runners, Tim, completed the 10K in just over an hour and shared this about the day:
βIt was hotter and hillier than I have been used to in training, so was pleased to see lots of people out there with hoses and thankful for all the water stations.β
Amazing effort Tim and thank you again to all of our runners for your incredible supportπ
Inspired to take on a challenge for Open Up yourself? We still have places available for the Exeter 5K Inflatable.

A huge good luck to everyone taking part in the The Great West Run in Exeter this weekend, including all those running in support of Open Up ππββοΈ
Weβre incredibly grateful to every single runner who has chosen to raise money to support mental health, learning disability and neurodiversity care across Devon and beyond. Your support really does make a difference π
One of our amazing runners, Meg, shared why sheβs taking part:
βIβm an Occupational Therapy Apprentice within the Specialist Health Community Learning Disability Service and have worked for DPT for 6 years. I work with some amazing people who do a fantastic job supporting people across our communities and hospitals, but without Open Up, some of that work wouldnβt be possible. Therefore, I thought I'd challenge myself and raise some money to help the service!β
Thank you Meg and thank you to all of our runners taking on the challenge this Sunday π
Good luck everyone! π

Huge congratulations to Dan for completing the London Marathon in an incredible 3:02:50 while raising vital funds for Open Upβs Little Something Fund π
He took on this challenge to give back to the perinatal mental health services that supported his family during an incredibly difficult time. Donations will help more families access compassionate care and support when they need it most.
