After our recent post asking for household essentials, we have been absolutely blown away by the support from our amazing community! 🙌✨
Thanks to everyone liking, sharing and spreading the word, we’ve had so many kind people dropping off donations. Our household essentials room is now looking brilliantly stocked! 📦🧺🍽️

We’ve had bags of:
🛏️ Bedding
🧺 Towels
🍽️ Kitchenware
🍳 Pots & pans
🍴 Plates & cutlery

All of these items will go directly to the individuals and families we support who are moving into empty homes and starting again ❤️🏡

We are always accepting these items, so if you’re having a clear out please keep them coming and feel free to drop them down to us anytime during our donation hours 🙏

Join Turntable Furniture, a tiny but mighty team of just 6 lovely humans 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 in Exeter 🏡, helping families in need 💚 We’re looking for a friendly volunteer van driver to collect & deliver furniture in our 3.5 tonne van 🚚

🥶 We need a little help… it’s absolutely freezing in our warehouse 🥶

The gas to our building was capped off years ago, and right now the conditions are honestly unbearable. We’re talking icicles from our noses (not exaggerating!), freezing hands, and a warehouse that never warms up.

This affects everyone .. our small team, our amazing volunteers, and the vulnerable clients who come in to choose furniture. It’s also not ideal for the furniture itself, with damp and mould becoming a real risk in these temperatures.

We’re a small local charity with very limited income, doing our best to keep going and support people who are already going through hard times. Working in these conditions just isn’t fair or safe for anyone.

If there is any local gas engineer or business who could help by uncapping the gas and reconnecting / hooking it back up, we would be beyond grateful. Even advice or a kindly priced quote would mean the world to us.

It was only a few months ago that I was on the verge of living on the streets again. And now, with the kindness and support of people like yourselves, I am able to experience what it feels like to have a home, with furniture.

Everything turned up okay. There was a minor issue with a couple of steps outside my flat that hadn’t been accounted for, but the people in the van were kind enough to look past it and get the items safely delivered.”

Hearing words like these reminds us that furniture is never just furniture. It’s stability, dignity, and the feeling of being able to start again.

January is the perfect time for a fresh start — and if you’ve treated yourself to a new sofa or furniture in the sales, please don’t forget about your old one 💛

If it’s still in good, usable condition, we’d love to give it a second life by passing it on to a family or individual who really needs it. Donating your furniture helps furnish homes, rebuild lives, and keeps good items out of landfill ♻️

If you’ve got a new delivery booked, get in touch before it arrives and I can advise on donating your existing sofa, beds, tables, wardrobes and more 🛏️🪑
