Cervical screening (which used to be called a smear test) is a free health test on the NHS.
Screening can help protect you against cervical cancer and all women aged 25 to 64 are invited for cervical screening every 5 years. Everyone with a cervix should be offered screening.
It's important not to miss your screening, as it really can save lives.

Anyone could have Chlamydia. Your flatmate, the nice guy with the cute eyes who works behind the bar...
If you don't regularly wear condoms when you have s*x with new partners, you could have Chlamydia too.
Chlamydia often has no visible symptoms but if left untreated it can cause serious health problems.
Testing is free and you can even test at home.

If you've had unprotected s*x, you can get the morning-after pill free of charge from many high-street pharmacies across England through the NHS.
No GP appointment or referral is required; you can walk in and speak to a pharmacist confidentially.
Emergency contraception is also available from s*xual health clinics

DoxyPEP is an antibiotic you can take after s*x to help prevent some s*xually transmitted infections (STIs).
It helps protect against Chlamydia and Syphilis. It does not protect against HIV.

Clinical guidelines currently recommend DoxyPEP for people at higher risk of syphilis, including some gay, bis*xual and other men who have s*x with men.
It may be offered to other people if they are also at high risk for syphilis infection.

Always talk to your GP, s*xual health nurse, or doctor before starting DoxyPEP.

There are many different types of contraception and it's important to find the right type to suit you and your lifestyle.
If you'd rather not have to think about your contraception everyday, then long-acting reversible contraception methods are ideal.
These include implants, injections and IUDs (hormonal and non-hormonal).

You can find out more on our website devons*xualhealth.nhs.uk/contraception or ask in our clinics.
