HEL Performance | British Super Brake

As the British Suoer Bikes roar into Scotland this weekend for the Knockhill Round we are very proud that more riders across all of their different championships use HEL Performance than any other brake line manufacturer.

It’s because we support the sport - the HEL Performance Race Lab made the long trip from Exeter to Knockhill earlier in the week to make sure we are in pole position in the paddock and staff made an equally long drive up on Thursday,

We love it. Our main priority has always been the safety of those competing and so if they have an off or change the bar position or need any changes to their brake line set up we are on hand to get them sorted and back on track.

We love the racing - It gives us feedback on new models, new set ups, different options as well as knowing that the riders and the very best products we can manufacture stopping them safely.

Stopping the unstoppable - it’s what we do.

The amount of money invested here at HEL HQ over the years has been incredible - From our suite of Star Sliding Head CNC Machines to our many Brother CNC Mills and Robot Loaders. The 3D Scanning and printing capabilities, cleaning machines, parts washers, blasting machines, salt spray test rigs, pressure test machines, hose whip test machine - the list goes on and on...

We also invest heavily in CAD as you can imagine - lots of money spent each year on seats, software, upgrades, screens....

What makes it worthwhile is when I get sent a drawing like this... They will never grow up. 😂

On Monday the world lost Kev. It became a little bit darker.

When someone passes away, the differences that once felt significant suddenly seem much smaller. What remains are the memories of the person themselves - their character, their contribution and the mark they left on the people around them.

Kev was a familiar face to many through his work at HEL Performance. He was part of a company that earned respect through passion, hard work and a commitment to doing things properly.

Behind every successful business are people who give their time, energy and personality to it and Kev was one of those people. He gave so much in the Paddock to help build the brand and to support so many different teams and riders.

As part of this Kev was able to meet up with so many people including Keith Flint from the Prodigy and also Iron Maiden after an initial meeting in the Race Lab at the Isle Of Man TT – two bands that he absolutely loved.

For me, his passing is a reminder that life doesn't always give us the opportunity to finish every conversation or mend every relationship. Sometimes we assume there will be more time.

Sometimes there isn't.

Our thoughts are with Lynn and family, friends and colleagues. We have all lost someone important to us and we hope you find comfort in the memories you shared.

HEL Performance | He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother

We have a lot of Milling machines here at HEL HQ and they are all manufactured by Brother - They really are fast machines which we need for the amount of aluminium billet blocks we get through...

So very kindly we were invited to the launch of their new Technology Centre in Frankfurt, Germany by their UK Partner and two of our machinists went along as their guests to see the new facility and how it will help our compnay grow further.

HEL Performance | The Weird And The Wonderful

Mr HEL can still be amazed - even at his age...

Which is what happened last week at HEL HQ when we had the pleasure of someone turning up in the car park unannounced with a little beauty tucked away in their trailer requiring the very finest brake lines and calipers.

Cyclekarts - Something he had never heard of but its a decent size movement in the UK. Cyclekarts are compact, lightweight sports machines, home and hand-made - normally by their drivers. They use simple components, often from go-karts, to provide low-cost fun.

Literally blown away - and we love it. We love that this still goes on in garages and sheds up and down the country, love that building is still a passion for many and love that there are so many clubs up and down the country that cater for everyone with an itch for combustion.
