One of the biggest mistakes I see is people being told that laser is the only answer for permanent makeup removal. Unfortunately, some pigments can leave behind yellow, peach, or fluorescent tones that laser simply can't target.
Before starting any removal journey, it's important to have a patch test and seek advice from someone who specialises in permanent makeup removal—not just tattoo removal.
PMU pigments behave very differently to body art inks, and what works for one set of brows may not be the right approach for another.
That's why I offer multiple removal methods, including laser and saline removal, so we can choose the safest and most effective option for your brows and your end goal.
The aim isn't just to remove the dark pigment... it's to avoid creating a bigger problem underneath.

Why do old brows go warm? 🤔
One of the most common questions I'm asked is why old microblading or PMU brows have faded red, orange, salmon or warm brown over time.
In many cases, it's due to the pigments that were available years ago, particularly those containing higher levels of iron oxide. As the pigment ages and breaks down, certain colour components fade faster than others, leaving warmer tones visible in the skin.
The good news? There are usually options.

This lovely lady wanted to keep her brows looking soft and natural, but we also needed to build a little more symmetry and definition where nature hadn't quite been so generous.
Using delicate hair strokes, we carefully worked with her natural brow pattern to create balance, fullness and shape without making them look "done."
The best part? Seeing her reaction when she looked in the mirror. 🥹

Most brow corrections start with removal not a cover-up.
The best results come from slowing down, lifting old pigment carefully, and rebuilding from a healthier canvas ✨
These brows were originally very dark and saturated. (Not by me)
We used a gradual dual-method removal approach:
• Saline removal
• Followed by laser
• Followed by another saline session
Then we allowed the skin to heal fully before recreating soft, natural hair strokes 12 weeks later.
Removal is a process and one that should never be rushed.
I normally tell clients to expect a minimum of around 3 sessions, but sometimes it can take more depending on:
• Pigment colour
• Depth of implantation
• Previous techniques used
• Skin condition
• Scar tissue
• How the pigment responds to laser
This is why I prefer a dual-method approach combining and laser where appropriate. It allows me to work more strategically, helping to minimise unwanted colour shifts (hello neon yellows, greys and strange undertones 👋) whilst protecting skin integrity as much as possible.
The goal isn’t just lighter brows.
The goal is healthy skin that can safely hold beautiful new work again 🤍
Correction work takes patience, honesty, experience and a long-term plan but when done properly, the transformation can be incredible.
