Another double Ducati weekend for the CRMC Donington Classic Festival.
Following an excellent Classic Bike Trackdays day on Friday the weekend's CRMC meeting was a bit of a stop start affair with many more red flags than expected - best wishes and a speedy recovery to all those involved.
Highlights were improving personal best lap on the Pantah by 1.5 seconds and running much closer to 2nd and 3rd in that class than I had at Snetterton.
Next up CRMC Mallory Park🤞though that depends on how the class mix and race schedule are organised 🤞

Finally... some time for a quick update following CRMC Round 3 at Snetterton.

P&M preparations didn't go as planned - fortunately, with bikes in different classes racing together, it was possible to do the same races on different bikes so it became a double Ducati weekend instead.

First out to play was the 500 Pantah and all 4 races followed a similar pattern. Starting in the second wave I had an initial tussle with Gary Bransgrove on his Laverda Monjuic, followed by a few laps on my own before the faster CB500s from the 1st wave started dive bombing me towards the end 😂
Overall a good weekend with one second and three third places in class - and a nice 3rd place slate trophy from Race 1 which was a first for the Pantah in my hands.

Having owned and done nearly 100 track days on it since 2004, the 853 finally got to make its race debut 😀
As with the Pantah all the races followed a similar pattern - an initial few laps with other bikes, then some laps on my own before being well and truly shown the way it should be done by the fast boys!

An excellent weekend going round and round in the sun 😀

Excellent weekend racing in the glorious sun at Goodwood

Had some 'troubles' that hindered gear selection all weekend - many thanks to Andy - Forty Two Racing - for all his efforts in trying to resolve it and for the usual immaculate prep of the bike 🍻

Sorry that we couldn't get you a win for your birthday Michael - but a hard fought 3rd Overall was a top result 👏

Race season 2026 is go😃
CRMC test day at Mallory Park yesterday and a chance for Michael to sling a leg over the RPS Trident ahead of racing it at the 83rd GRRC Members Meeting next month.

Away from the usual topic for a change 😀
Have noticed that the good folks at Freshwell Camping in Croyde Bay have managed to include the Teign Valley Racing van in their recent post 😂

I don't seem to be able to link to them in this post 🤷‍♂️
Suffice to say we stay there a few times each year and it is an excellent (if 'fairly basic'😀) and well run site with great views - highly recommended 👍
