A skirting job for a lovely couple in Exeter looking to tidy up the house before moving.

Unfortunately the plastering on the wall was slightly damaged in some places and required filling by a decorator. Furthermore it’s worth noting that the flooring unfortunately didn’t reach the skirting on the left of the fireplace. However they where aware of both of these facts and already had a solution planned.

Another happy customer !!!

Another example of my first fixing.

A hanging timber ceiling designed to run flush with the encased steel joist that runs through the middle. Due to the span of the segment on the left I had to construct a series of pick-up point in the middle of the joists. This had the effect of removing any unwanted movement in the ceiling.

Last summer a customer in Newton Abbott contacted me saying they’d had a leak in the downstairs toilet and the water had destroyed the timber box encasing the soil pipe.

I was hired to remove the old timber boxing, skirting and caulking and replace throughout

The first two pictures are of the original damage

The final three pictures are what I replaced it with

Practice makes perfect.

Older buildings always throw up unique challenges. One example is a client of mine who had a door lining that backed immediately onto an arched corridor. Therefore requiring that I scribed the archatrave head to follow the curve of the ceiling.
