September is basically January for your house. Everyone's back to work. The kids are back at school. The house is super quiet. And you start looking around and thinking.. 'we've really got to sort that kitchen out'.

We often get enquiries from people who have been thinking about a renovation for months, sometimes years, but haven't know where to start. And that's completely normal. A renovation can feel like a massive undertaking when you're looking at the finished idea in your head. But you don't have to figure it all out at once.

The first step is to work out what you want to change, what isn't working, and what you want the finished space to achieve.

From there, you can start looking at what's actually possible. Sometimes the solution is a full renovation. Sometimes it's a layout change. Sometimes it's something completely different to what you first thought. So it's always worth having the conversation before you've made all those decisions in your head.

With schools broken up for summer, lots of families will suddenly become very aware of which parts of the house don't work for them. It could be storage, a cramped kitchen, lack of space or something else completely. 🤷
