Ever wondered what Formation Riding with minis actually looks like?
We're having a little meet and greet at Hitts Barton Equestrian on Sunday 13th September, so if you've been watching our mini team and wondering whether you and your pony could do this too, come and see us.
Come along on foot, meet the team, watch them train, ask questions and see what you think.
No need to bring your pony and no commitment. Just come and have a look.
Message us if you'd like to join us and we'll send you the details.

🐴 Why We Love Starting in Walk
Because there's so much we can achieve in walk.
It gives horses time to settle, riders time to find their confidence and the whole team time to establish rhythm and spacing.
No pressure. No rush.
Then, when everyone is ready, we can build from there.
🤝 Confident riders. Happy horses. Stronger teams.

With the next competition looming, we've had a few people asking how to ride the salute, so we thought we'd share this one again.
Here's the demo team showing you how it's done.
It's a Mexican wave, not everyone at once. Each rider salutes in turn down the line.
Looks pretty smart when you get it right!

Can anyone help Poppy Webber - Qualified Saddle Fitter find teammates. Louise Codling is there anyone nearby? 🤩
Local and local-ish horse peeps.
I am looking for someone local who does formation riding stuff. I want to try some with Bertie as I think he’ll love it! And I’d love it. I tried some at camp with All-Steps Formation Riding and it was awesome but I don’t think they have any locally?? And doing something in a team will kick us into shape and will be super fun. And I have a friend who is also super keen to have a go.
Also looking for local-ish gallops. Surfaced and hedged/fenced with some gentle uphill bits. Safe feeling.
Also some clinics. Maybe pole ones. Maybe biomechanics. Maybe just fun random ones? Pref indoors over winter. Cos I am a fair weather type 😉
And some winter indoor dressage - obvs got Truesdale in the diary but wondering if there was anymore in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk or South Lincs?
I’m PE12 but happy to travel for an hour or so.
Hit me with any ideas. 💡

🌎 UK ✔️ Australia ✔️ Who's next? 👀🐴
Three Australian teams are joining our next All-Steps Formation Riding Online Competition… and it's got us wondering just how far Formation Riding could travel.
Because it's online, your team can compete from anywhere in the world. 🌍
So come on… which country should be next?
🇮🇪 Ireland? 🇺🇸 USA? 🇨🇦 Canada? 🇳🇿 New Zealand? Somewhere else entirely?
Tag a horsey friend overseas who needs to see this! 👇

Every sport started somewhere.
Every recognised equestrian discipline began with people who turned up, gave it a go and helped it grow.
Formation Riding is no different.
Looking at this photo, that's what I see. Riders and teams who are helping us build something that didn't exist before.
Every clinic, every new team, every competition entry and every person who decides to give Formation Riding a go moves it forward a little bit more.
Thank you to everyone who's been part of it so far.
We're only just getting started.

🇦🇺 And completing our Australian trio… the Waltzing Matildas! 🐴💃
What a brilliant name for an Australian Formation team!
From riders who have never competed before to experienced equestrians, these three teams range from 15 to 70 years young and they've all discovered the fun of riding Formation together.
Welcome Waltzing Matildas! 🇦🇺
Three Aussie teams in our next competition… could this be the start of something Down Under? 👀

🐴 Got a mini? Live in Devon? Fancy taking them on adventures around the country?
We’re looking for new members to join our All-Steps Mini Formation Team.
We train together, perform at events, travel around the country and have a lot of fun along the way. Your mini gets a job to do, you both learn something completely different and together you become part of a growing equestrian sport.
You don’t need any Formation Riding experience, but you do need to want to be part of a team. That means coming to training, practising at home and being prepared to put the work in between sessions.
Because the adventures are brilliant, but the magic doesn’t happen without the practice.
Here’s some of our fabulous team performing at the Munchkins Summer Fayre ❤️
Think this could be you and your mini?
Comment MINIS below and we’ll get in touch.
Or tag someone whose mini needs a new adventure!
