The world is crazy...my health is not good...but art, my art makes me happy. I hope this simple little drawing from years ago makes you happy too. x

So fast forward several months and I've been really enjoying painting flowers...like I'm not really sure I can actually stop. 😂
This is a white passion flower...my brother very kindly gave me permission to use the image. I've always loved flowers and was fascinated by them in biology at school, in fact they were one of the few thing's I'd agree to dissect.
I'm still trying to find my 'style' but feel as though this is true to who I am as an artist. I hope you enjoy.

So Hi 👋.
Yes it's been absolutely ages since I last posted. Sorry to those that are still choosing to follow me...and a huge "Thank You" for sticking with me 💕
So this past year I started a new medium, !! I can't quite believe it...up until a year ago I'd always had a rather quiet disdain for the stuff. I thought it was something that old people did 🤔 and although I appreciated a lot of other people's art, I could never really see myself using it.
Well last September I turned 50...🤫 and although I most certainly do not consider myself as 'old', I began to follow some other artists that dabble very happily in watercolour & they were actually having fun!!!
I'd lost my mojo and for someone who's name is often shortened to Jo, this wasn't such a good thing! 😂
Anyhoo...I thought I'd start sharing my art and paintings with you lovely lot. This is one of the first things I did while watching artists on It's not really my style but it has enabled me to get back into creating and painting.
That's it for now and as-per sorry for the long post. 😁🥰

So I can finally share with you the portrait I did, now it's all safe and sound with the owner. 'Wendy'.
Wendy is a nurse in Scotland and it was my absolute pleasure & honour to paint her portrait for an initiative that was set up by
I used to paint almost every day and have artwork across the globe. But this is the first portrait I've done in about 9 years...After I contracted meningitis I was left with a condition called Daily Chronic Migraine or Daily Chronic Headache. It meant I was unable to pick up a paintbrush for the longest time and doing this painting was an act of faith. Wendy has no idea just what a blessing it has been for me to paint her and what it means to have been able to actually do it.
Thank you Wendy for your amazing service to the people of the UK during this bizarre time and thank you on a very personal level for trusting me enough with your story.

Yay I've been matched with Wendy! If you would like your portrait done by an artist please look out for the green canvas and hashtag! Can't wait!

*******UPDATE******* I've been matched.

I've been busy making scrubs etc and helping to organize a but I am also an artist. I would love to do a portrait for an NHS hero...if you know someone, are someone working in our amazing NHS or would like to nominate someone please get in contact...First person to respond will have a portrait free of charge of an NHS hero. It would be great to paint someone who works in one of the hospital trusts within Cambridgeshire but I would be honoured & privileged to paint anyone working at this most difficult and unprecedented time. Stay safe and well. This initiative was thought of and devised by what an awesome way to say "thank you".

My Etsy shops are still closed...Apart from my grandson, my time is now taken by sewing scrubs, including caps and bags. For the love of scrubs is such an amazing thing to be part of and I feel so totally honoured to be able to play my tiny part, just like thousands of other sewers across the UK.
Just in case you haven't heard of this sewing movement to support our fantastic NHS and caregivers you can find them on FB "For The Love of Scrubs- our NHS needs you "
Perhaps you feel you can do some sewing too, donate some fabric to the cause or even donate to their fund-raising page? What ever you choose to do, Thank you.
Stay safe, stay indoors and protect our NHS
Blessings, Jo xx

Hi there,
Just to let you know....I'm still around but I'm busy working on a "For the Love of Scrubs" project atm...Basically making scrubs, hats and scrub laundry bags for our AMAZING NHS....
If you think this is something you'd like to be a part of check their FB page out...if you'd like to donate DM me and I'll send you a link to any relevant Go-fund me page for the groups I'm in Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Hinchingbrooke & Peterborough Hospitals...or you can find a link on my personal FB page.
If you have some fabric you'd like to donate (needs to 100% cotton or polycotton 65/35 approx, please NO POLYESTER, as I've already got 5 huge rolls but these can only be made into scrub laundry bags - not scrubs) then get in touch with me.
If you've made it to the end of this post...THANK YOU for reading this.
I will be back...who knows where...who knows when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day.
Much love,
Jo
