Good afternoon Poppy Riders,

On Thursday, Lindsey and I had the pleasure of handing over a cheque for £6,680.00 to Robin Phillips of Poppy Scotland — the full proceeds of this year’s event, along with a late donation of £100.

Once again, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to every single one of you for your support, and to our amazing on-the-day team. A huge shout-out also to our major sponsors — Rob Taylor (Norfabs), Ally Main (Main Motors) — and to everyone at Macleans Highland Bakery, Lossiemouth Pavilion, and of course the brilliant team at 39 Engineers Regiment, Kinloss.

Many of you have been with us since the beginning and it’s hard to believe this year marked Poppy Ride No. 6! It's incredible to think that what started back in 2018 as an idea — Could we get a few of our ECC/Moray Wheelers crew cycling around Moray’s war memorials to raise a bit of money for Poppy Scotland, has grown into such a well loved and successful event. We also recognise the contribution of our good friend Bruce Terris who helped secure the runway for us in 2023. From that point, the event really did take off! (Pun intended🤣)

However… Lindsey and I feel the time has come for us to take a break. The event has grown far beyond what the two of us can realistically manage on our own, and organising it has become a major undertaking. There is only so long we can depend on the goodwill of those who support us on the day.

We’d be more than happy to chat with anyone interested in taking the reins, but for us, it’s time to step back. Thank you again for all your support over the years and for so many unforgettable memories:
