Connected - Springboard

1 year ago today we launched the Springboard project with a blank canvas and tons of ideas. The programme has gone from strength to strength over the last year and has supported over 100 people take the steps towards a brighter future. A big thank you to the Springboard team and the lottery for allowing us to build such a great project. Here's to the next year!!

Young and homeless – a growing problem and how to help On 10 October 2015 people around the world will mark World Homeless Day with the aim of changing the lives of homeless people in their communities....

Anyone in Aberdeen please pop in and support the homeless community. Good food for a Good Cause!

What a fantastic week the Springboard guys have had with all participants receiving the SQA Working with Others qualification in partnership with our friends at Crisis. Well done on all your hard work and dedication!!

It is time to see what the guys have come up with for their Working with Others module. All of this week the group have planned activities for them and staff to take part in with the first one being today down in North Berwick. Keep an eye out for pics!!

The Springboard group have had a very successful couple of weeks with all clients receiving their REHIS Food Hygiene and Emergency First Aid at Work certificates. Great job guys!! The group are now focusing on planning and delivering an activity week within the next month. Keep an eye out for pics!

The group are out on their final excursion at World of Bowling to celebrate their graduation from the course. A good time is being had by all

Congratulations are in order to one of our own today. Sean Cook will receive an Inspiring Volunteer Award tonight for his excellent service within our EFI furniture store where he has volunteered for the last year. His hard work has paid off and he was recently employed by Foursquare as a Warehouse Assistant. Here is Sean last year receiving recognition for his volunteering at a Springboard event. Well done Sean!!

Springboard is now recruiting for the next course which starts in July. It's open to anyone who is 25+, who live in Edinburgh and isn't on the work programme.
It's a 12 week course requiring a commitment of 2-3 days per week and covers topics like confidence and self esteem, anger management, goal setting and planning, money management, citizenship, REHIS elementary food hygiene training and customer service.
We also work in partnership with Crisis to deliver the working with others SQA which involves working as part of a team planning and attending a residential.
There is an opportunity for participants to undertake on a volunteer work placement either in our EFI store or externally.
