Message To UPU and UPU Youth Wing
I just stumbled on the MTN Champs on DSTV where two of our boys finished first and second in one of the 100m Semifinals heats and this makes me remember how good the Urhobos are in Athletics.
In the last Olympics games, more than 20 percent of the Athletes that represented Nigeria are Urhobos and I think since Athletics is our stronghold, we should leverage on that to build the next generation of World and Olympic Champions.
I am writing this and drawing the attention of the UPU to this because this is something they are supposed to be doing to empower the Youths since it is the sport we are good at.
It will cost nothing for UPU to build an Athletic Sports Complex where there will be editions for all Urhobo Kingdoms to bring their Athletes to compete and the best will be picked for sponsorship.
100m Naira will build an Athletic Sports Complex with a one side Stand for VIP and we all know Urhobo is bigger than 100m.
UPU and their Youth Wings should consider this. These are what they should be doing for the Youths not politics with the future of Urhobo.
