Last week was a rare chance to step away from the tools and spend a couple of days at UK Construction Week in Birmingham

The event brought together suppliers, innovators, and contractors from across the industry, with valuable conversations happening both on the stands and in the seminars. Highlights included talks on mental health in construction and how AI is beginning to influence business development across the trade.

It was also a great opportunity to connect with new suppliers and other trades, explore fresh ideas, and reflect on how the industry is evolving, not just on site but behind the scenes as well.

Plenty of takeaways for the months ahead, and some exciting things now in motion as a result. 🙌🏼

Excited to finally share a big change that’s happening! After a strong run of recent jobs and a couple of larger projects on the horizon, I’ve made the decision to grow the business. As of the 8th of September, InspiraBuilt Developments Ltd officially launches!

We will be operating as a fully insured building company, supplying and coordinating all trades across Edinburgh and the Lothians. InspiraBuilt will handle full renovations, structural alterations, steel beam installations, extensions, conversions, kitchens and more.

With full project management from start to finish, InspiraBuilt will deliver precision, professionalism and clear communication at every stage. From structural works, to plumbing and electrical installations, through to refined finishing: plastering, decorating, tiling and bespoke joinery.

Bathroom completed a few weeks back 🤩 the old bathroom was stripped back, revealing water damage to the sub floor which was subsequently replaced. A small wall was also removed that was previously in place to support a bath, which gave the room a much more open feel. For the new bathroom, the shower position was moved whilst the floors were lifted and a ceiling mounted shower head was installed. A new bulkhead was formed with enough room to incorporate some built in shelving for towels leaving a cracking feature for this stunning bathroom. Delighted with the end product! 🔨 🔨🤩

Custom built wardrobes completed for a customer 🔨 These were designed to maximise space in the room and provide much needed shelving space as requested. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need something similar in your home 🤩🔨

Bathroom completed a couple of weeks back 🤩 The customer wanted a white and gold style bathroom which was exactly what we delivered 👌🏽🔨

The bathroom was fitted with white & gold marble wet wall. One wall was left as a feature which was plastered and painted. Fresh sanitary ware was installed with all brass fittings. The job was finished off with some stunning white marble tile effect LVT flooring and all brass trims. The customer was delighted with the end product 🤩🙌🏼🔨

Engineered wood Herringbone floor completed recently! 😍 The old tiles and laminate flooring were stripped out and replaced with this stunning ‘Legacy Prosecco Oak’ flooring from . The strip out revealed an uneven concrete subfloor in the kitchen which needed to be self levelled before continuing the flooring through.

The old skirting boards were removed and replaced with fresh skirting alongside new kickplates installed under the kitchen units to leave a seamless finish throughout.

Client was delighted with the end result 🤩👌🏽 🔨

Finished fitting a Magnet kitchen this week! The client wanted to keep their original tiles which we worked around and made it happen. The Nova Laurel Green range from Magnet helped lighten this kitchen up along with the led strip lights fitted under the wall units. The sockets and switches where replaced with chrome fittings and the boiler pipes boxed in nicely to tidy the job up 🤩🤩 The client is delighted with the end result and we’re looking forward to returning in the New Year to replace the flooring with some fresh LVT 👌🏽🔨
