A sea of blooms in the heart of Fife 🌸✨

Few fields are as bonnie as those at Jack Blooms, where fourth-generation farmer Alex Nelson grows rows of fabulously flamboyant peonies.

While their extravagant blooms might seem more at home in warmer climates, these beautiful flowers thrive in Scotland’s cool conditions.

Alex’s journey into flower farming began during Covid, learning to grow dahlias alongside her grandad.

Since 2022, her fields have been bursting with stunning peonies with roots stretching back centuries to Asia.

Discover how Alex transformed a passion for flowers into a flourishing business, and why peonies are thriving in Scotland, in our latest issue.

This island off the west coast has gone on the market for £1.25million – and it comes with incredible views and its own secluded beaches.

Harbour Island is set just off Crinan Harbour. It extends to around 9.7 acres and is accessed by a 300 metre boat journey from the mainland.

At its heart sits an award-winning, architect-designed house, with four-bedrooms and uninterrupted views across the Sound of Jura.

We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with the wonderful Douglas Stuart to talk about his incredible new novel John of John.

An utterly immersive read that transports you to the Isle of Harris and is the latest pick for Oprah's Book Club.

Proud Glaswegian Douglas talks to us about his career in fashion and how Harris tweed weaving is part of his own personal history.

We also hear about the time he spent on the island, speaking to the locals and learning about their way of life.

One of our favourite conversations of the year so far! Trust us - you won’t want to miss this one.

Full interview in the comments and let us know if you’ve read John of John yet 👇
