Work is underway converting the former Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane to the new Apex Dunblane Hydro Hotel. The refurbishment work is being undertaken in phases while the hotel remains open. We are looking forward to sharing photos of the transformation as it progresses over the coming months.

Refurbishment work is progressing at Dalhousie Castle near Edinburgh with the final phase of bedrooms due for completion in the spring of next year. Front of house spaces are largely complete including the Sir Alexander Room, refurbished to create a stunning new lounge bar for guests and visitors.

Congratulations to Clark Contracts and Danehurst Developments on being named finalists in the Student Accommodation of the Year category at the Scottish Property Awards 2026 for Pepper Mill Edinburgh.

ISA are proud to have contributed to this outstanding project, providing expertise across both the Planning and Construction phases. The development features 155 high-quality studio apartments and shared amenities.

We are delighted to announce that Calum McLeod and Anthony Hemmings have become Directors of ISA. This promotion recognises not just their contribution to our past success, but the exciting role they will play in shaping our future.

We would also like to congratulate Shona Porteous who has been promoted to an Associate and Ryan Orr who has become a Senior Architect. Shona and Ryan will continue to help drive our projects forward and mentor the next generation of talent.

The last project from our review of 25 years of ISA.

ISA were engaged in the preparation of the Planning Application for Phase 1 of Lower Gilmore Place on behalf of Glencairn Properties. The proposal comprises a new-build student accommodation development, including associated landscaping, and provides 74 studio apartments along with communal amenity spaces, a gym, and ancillary facilities.

Following the Planning Stage, ISA were re-appointed for Phase 2 from RIBA Stage 4 onwards, providing comprehensive production information for both the architectural and interior elements, and offering support to the client throughout the construction phase.

Phase 2 introduces an additional 80 studio bedrooms along with shared internal and external amenity spaces. Gym, study, and library areas are located at ground floor level, offering views onto Lower Gilmore Place at the front and a landscaped courtyard at the rear.
