Hi there,
Sorry for the silence, but on 28th June I got hit by a driver in a minibus.
My injuries were quite traumatic. My right arm has a fractured humerus, fractured ulna and a smashed elbow joint.
My pelvis has a serious fracture on the right hand side and the right hip socket was smashed by the ball of the hip being forced through it.
I was discharged early in July, but a second operation 3 days later, found an in section in my arm. I then spent over 4 weeks in hospital being treated for that. I was eventually discharged on the 18th August after a 3rd operation, again on my arm.
Unfortunately i require at least two more operations before I regain mobility. So it may be several months before I can ride a bike again, let alone lead a Spokes Ride.
In the meantime I will be trying to find someone who can lead these rides, so hopefully they can recommence soon.

Apologies. No Spokes Ride this weekend. Not because of the Queen's Jubilee, but because I am still recovering from a bad cold.

Eight people on the May Spikes Ride to East Lothian. 72km from the Usher Hall, down the Innocent Railway path, along the coast road to Aberlady before heading inland through Drem to the lunch venue. After lunch a history / social route of the National flag of Scotland, a castle used by Mary Queen of Scots, Hopetoun Monument and Rabbie Burns.
A much nicer day than forecast. Sunny in the afternoon.

No snow or sleet showers for the Spokes Ride on Sunday. Updated forecast showed nasty weather moved to the afternoon. So a mini Spokes Ride and back home for lunch.
