I have always believed in getting athletes to u17/u20s with good technique and gradual development before trying to focus on this larger targets. This paper, to me, cements those ideas.
However, it does introduce me with some questions.
I believe coaches, parents and athletes should give this a read. Even just section 4.2 Practicle implications just to be aware and start challenging their own practices, thoughts and beliefs. If it goes with what you believe does it make you ask more questions?

Awards night a few weeks ago. Who knew us coaches could wear smart clothes. We may not have won but that’s okay 👍🏼

Saturday morning and track to myself. Weekend sessions are to relax, no rush, try new things, work on areas you can’t usually on normal sessions. But more importantly just have fun with it.
