UPDATE FROM THE COLLEGE LIBRARIAN
Just to let you all know – I’ll be leaving Mary’s at the end of term. I’ve very much enjoyed the last 4 years and I know I will miss you, especially the lovely library team (who’ll still be doing a great job keeping things ticking over).

Have you seen our new display in the Reading Room? health
Do feel free to borrow some in the usual way.

Before you remove a book from the Library or Reading Room, you MUST check it out using the Loan Station. If this isn't working, then enter your details in the Log Book which is next to it. If a book isn't borrowed in this way, it is considered as stolen.
Our Library and Reading Room can only continue to be available 24/7 if everyone uses the system correctly. We rely on trust.
To return the book, just place it in the Returns box next to the Library.

Freshers! If you've spotted a gap in our stock from your reading list, you can suggest that we buy it for Mary's. Just go to: https://www.dur.ac.uk/st-marys.college/password/undergraduate/facilities/study_spaces/layout/collegelibrary/bookrequest/

Did you know that it's the Durham Book Festival AND Libraries Week?
We've been given lots of copies of this book to give away, first come first served!
When? Tuesday 8th October, at lunch time.
Where? Outside the Dining Room.

No fines at Mary's, but we do need your books back please.

If you are an undergraduate finalist, please ensure you return all of your loans and pay any outstanding fines by Wednesday 19 June, so that your record can be cleared before you leave.

For ISC students, please return any remaining loans and pay outstanding fines immediately as your library privileges have now ended, and your record can be cleared before you leave or begin you next course in Durham.

Remember that we have a small wellbeing section in the Reading Room too.

During exam term your wellbeing should be a top priority. Remember to include regular breaks and relaxing activities in your revision plans. Below are some suggestions for de-stress activities taking place in the Library over Easter term

When you're searching for your books - did you know...

1 - If you see JCR before the class number, that means they are at the beginning of the sequence in the Reading Room, and denote reading for pleasure (rather than a text book)

2 - If you see 'Stack Room' or 'Reserve' in the location field, it means that they are still available, but you need to email the Librarian to borrow them.
