๐๏ธ๐ผ๏ธ Final Tour to Discover the Forbidden City during your lunchtime!
Join our curator Dr Qin Cao for an exclusive lunchtime tour of โJourney of a Century: From the Forbidden City to the Palace Museumโ, the first venue outside China to host this remarkable photography exhibition. Discover how the Forbidden City transformed from the home of 24 emperors into one of the worldโs most significant museums, and explore rarely seen archival images that trace a century of political change, preservation, and cultural ambition ๐ท
The exhibition also provides fascinating new insights into Durham Universityโs early links with the Palace Museum through Malcolm MacDonald (1901-1981), former Chancellor of Durham University (1971- 1980), and a prominent politician and diplomat.
Tours will be taking place on the following dates:
๐๏ธ Thursday 28 May 1-2pm
Spaces are limited and tickets are free, but booking is essential via Eventbrite by ๐ โOriental Museumโ ๐ซ
