Have you tried HaveBallroom and Latin? Do you fancy trying Lindy Hop?

Lindy Hop is a partner dance, but it has its own lovely feel.

It is less formal than Ballroom, more relaxed than competitive dancing, and full of bounce, rhythm and play.

You’ll still enjoy connection, lead and follow, musicality and movement, but in a way that feels friendly, social and free.

It’s a great choice if you fancy learning something new without pressure.

At Lindy Jazz, we teach in a way that helps you feel safe, supported and able to build gradually.

What a lovely evening out with the Lindy Jazz crew at Village Community Dance last night!

The hall was spacious, welcoming, and had a fantastic dance floor that kept us dancing all evening. We were treated to excellent live music from the City Swing Band, with the wonderful Claire Louise providing the vocals.

One of the highlights of the evening was catching up with so many friends from Lindy Jazz past and present. It was wonderful to be there with our current Lindy Jazz group while also reconnecting with old friends, some of whom we’ve known through dancing jive from over 25 years ago!

There’s something very special about the swing dance community. The music & friendships keep us connected.

Thank you to everyone who made it such a memorable evening. We’re already looking forward to the next one! 🎶💃🕺

If you love dancing to music with character, rhythm and energy, Lindy Hop might be just what you’re looking for.

Lindy Hop grew out of the swing jazz era and is danced to brilliant music from big band swing, jazz and rhythm and blues.

It feels different from Ballroom and Latin. It is more relaxed, bouncy and playful, with lots of room for personality.

You don’t need previous Lindy Hop experience. If you’ve danced Ballroom, Latin, Modern Jive or Salsa before, you may find that some of your partner dance skills transfer beautifully.
