It's been a day of wonderful writing

We had our new reception starters info session tonight and I've had a few messages about what goes in our packs. When parents first get their space, we email out a full information booklet. At the info session, we hand out these packs...new this year but a nice little touch and seemed to go down well with parents.

Thank you Katie Jenkins for this ingenious idea! It went down very well with my class today!

This is a new one for me...ladybird larvae! Our nursery class do caterpillars to Butterflies so I needed something different, and my class have loved finding ladybirds outside so this seemed the obvious choice. Will see how it goes!

We are just starting our oracy journey (always a bit late to the party!) I've created a philosophical question for each of our weekly texts to create deliberate opportunities for talk. They love rehearsing their ideas in their hands first before using our blow up microphone to share them with the class. Today's was a really good one for introducing opinion and knowing its OK to disagree with someone.
